  • FS - La Cimbali Junior M21 and Cadet grinder

    Morning all,

Well, lets try this again - I put this up a couple of weeks ago, but was a newbie so it had to be removed! Good thing about that was that Ive had the use of the stuff over Christmas!

Im selling my beloved Liz Taylor (Junior M21) and Dicky Burton (Cadet Grinder).  Ive had both of them since new, and bought them in Perth, at the La Cimbali shop in Beafort Street.  Liz is four  years old, and have had her shots and services regularly by Supreme Coffee Machines in Rivervale in Perth.  Dicky is two years old, and is like new.

Ill not bore you with the details of these machines - Im working on the assumption that you know what they are and what they can do. I bought them as a graduation present to myself when I finished my BA and was heading in to my postgrad stuff. Liz and Dicky replaced my MDF and Domus which were sold to a mate of mine...

You can buy Liz for $2500, which is about $800 less than you would pay for her new, and Dicky can be yours for $650.  If you are like me and would hate to break up a happy home, you can have both for $3000. Freight to your state is extra, of course.

If you want to chat about it, call me on 0403 707896 or send me a private message or email.

    Cheers,

    Pete

Give it a bit of time, Peter, they are nice looking machines, but most people spent yesterday getting ready for last night, and will spend today getting over last night. Buying a coffee setup probably doesnt figure highly in todays plans.

          What Viv said.

And to help with your marketing, is the Pullman tamper included?

I know - not everyone can be like me and obsess over coffee all sorts of hours!! Thunder - not a chance - I LOVE that tamper and it will fit in the Domus filterbasket Im getting so it will stay with me. Oh if anyone has a new Domus rattling around that they want to get rid of, send me a message!

            Cheers guys...

Just checking - it was in the pic.

              I have the same one.

Yeah, I saw you had one in your signature... Lots of people seem to have them, and for good reason. That tamper was the last piece of equipment I bought, and it brought my coffee to a whole new level with this machine. I used to use the plastic one that came with my first machine - but dont tell anyone, ok?

Anyone give me an idea of the lack of interest in these? I thought it would thought it was pretty tempting - anyone have any ideas? Price? Time of year? Type of machine too much like a commercial machine for the majority of home users?

Id be interested in hearing other views?

                  Cheers!

Just my opinion, but I think the asking price is too high. Its 4 years old after all.

And the time of year may have something to do with it too, as many people may be away on holidays.

Re: FS - La Cimbali Junior M21 and Cadet grinder

I guess that could be - I figured the price was reasonable given that Ive really only turned it on twice a day, so it hasnt done much work... Its one of those things when you buy something new, isnt it - it doesnt age the same way as it does when someone else has had it for four years!!

                      Thanks Bill, appreciate your input...

                        Ok - price reduction!

Ill let Dicky the Grinder go for $500 and Liz (sniff) for $2300. Let me know if you think these are better prices - they are firm, though. Im not THAT keen to get rid of them...

                        Cheers,

                          Hi Fairtrade, Peter P

FYI I recently got my " 2 year old" Faema E98 Compact S1  which is same as La Cimbali Junior R...got it off EvilBay for a lot less than that  more like half of that.... I think that was a good buy It looks good outside and works well, though Im yet to take the covers off and see what its like inside. Saw another one (?age)  for $1500 or so too  which was the volumetric one... Though of course you cant tell with buying there...

So might still be a bit optimistic with your price Peter

                          Regards
                          Robert

                            Hey Rob,

Thanks for that input. Youre right - the two machines are very similar, but the bottom line is that the Junior cost about $3300 new, and the Faema a lot less than that new, if my info is correct. If the price is too high, im not really that bothered as I said - Im by no means desperate to sell the machines, but would like to so I can get a smaller one that would be more suited to my needs. In the final washup I know what I paid for it new, and how much they are second hand - Ive not seen any machines like this one for any less than $2000 and the older versions are usually about $1800...

Ill leave the ad up for a while longer and if it doesnt sell just forget about it and keep using my sledge hammer to crack nuts twice a day and impress the pants off people coming to visit!!

                            Cheers,

                            Pete

                              Hi peter P,
Im brand new to this , so excuse if Im off base, but, I am curious about why you would wish to sell, assuming the equipment is in good order. Will the replacements really make better shots?
                              Regards
