    Re: September Polls

Not me being punctual, its the marvels of computers.

I entered all the poll information at 3am this morning with a Poll start time of 1pm and the computer with atomic time sync makes a pretty good $3000 watch.

We have been made aware of one gotcha this month (that we thought was fixed last month). It appears that the rounding down bug has hit again and is taking a dollar or two off most of the invoice totals.
    $7.50 x 2.5kg = $18
    $7.50 x 5 = $36

Hmmm... but dont worry about diddling CS this month, the sponsors contributions should make-up the slack and next month we WILL fix it!

What did I say about the marvels of computers?

    Bloody Murphy.

This is probably the only time that a consumer cant feel good about diddling someone! Damn my $2 guilt  [smiley=beer.gif]

As a first time BeanBayer [month long anticipator] transaction was sooooo smooth, thanks Andy - and the technology that keeps you running at 3am  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I also was waiting in anticipation at 1pm - thanks for the warning email Andy. Paid via the bank by 3pm and now driving my wife nuts planning how to add 7.5kg of beans to my collection left from the starter pack.....thanks guys for a great service!

          Re: September Polls

Just wondering if Andy (and later on, others) could post roasting profiles for these September beans here. I just want to know how darkly I should cook them (I know its subjective to some extent)...

P.S. I agree it was sooo easy to use, and I have transferred the money now, thanks a lot!!

              Andy,

Having been too late to experience last months poll, let me now congratulate you on such a damn fine polling process - kudos! Next time though, could you give us all a touch more notice? The indian was all spoken for when i logged in this evening!

Secondly, thanks for giving that tea another chance - as you know Ive been needling for months now, so you can probably appreciate how happy I am now faced with the opportunity to finally get my grubby hands on it!

Finally, I must apologise - I didnt incorporate the invoice number into the bank deposit description, but rather my username (or part of it). Hope I dont screw things up too royally.

Once again, congrats on a fab new system.

              Pete

The Decaf is organic (and certified so) the Ugandan is insecticide free by process but not certified. The rest are unknown.

Next time though, could you give us all a touch more notice?
In an ideal world I would have enough time to give a few days notice, leave the polls up for a week and then have a couple of weeks to receive payment, order, bag and distribue the beans.

Sadly, it doesnt work like that.. and if it did we would not be able to poll every month as they would overlap.

I had initialy earmarked the poll for the end of August (woo hoo we are on-time) and due to one of the suppliers being lax with pricing and availability I only gave 11 hours notice.  The beans were all available at 6pm tonight (5 hours after polls opened) but had obviously gone when you got here.

We have all sorts of variables that stop us polling on a fixed date, most of them are supplier reasons but there are others like delivery dates and Fathers day that we have to work around and sometimes it just doesnt happen when we want it to.

I promise I will always give as much notice as I can, I try and email everyone with some notice and will alway post to the poll area of the forum the details.

We will also keep track of some of the very popular beans so that they can make a reappearance the next time they are on offer.

                Enjoy!

To be honest, I quite like the frenetic immediacy of the monthly poll. Its a bit like the lucky dip I enjoyed as a kid. OK, sometimes, I might be disappointed, but to discover something new, at such extraordinary prices, and such quality - I cant help but be excited.

                  Best wishes, Russell.

excellent process - a lot of fun, like bidding at a coffee lot sale during a shortage!

                      Re: September Polls

Ive been at TAFE classes then work all day and only just home, so I managed to grab the last of the decaf, and some of the Ugandan. Missed out on the Tiger Mountain, but maybe thats just as well - Im going to run out of bean storage space soon.

Nice work again Andy, this is incredibly easy

                        Hey Andy,
Great work again on the Polls and in a short turn around time, when you think the august polls were not that long ago...seems the fans can’t keep away .

Anyway just a heads up to let you know i sent though payment, my bank does not have the spot to put in a subject heading for the payment.  Good old Bendigo bank!

                        Thanks again Andy,

I must say Im very disappointed!
Could only just now log in and already ITM and Decaf sold out.
What a tease! But such is life i guess.
Is there a limit to how much each member can order?
Oh well... must get in while i can and pick up the last 50kg of the mystery blend (just joking).

I guess I was lucky, a friend rang at lunch to tell the poll was coming :P

So 12.5kg and four lovely new beans to play with the only dampener was the roasting from the wife over my stealing her pantry :-?

So I guess next poll I had better hold back... slightly
