Viviane -- sorry for the couple of day lag, next month will be better.  Look forward to reading your roasting results somewhere on the forum soon.
Andy, my apologies - my post wasnt meant to be a whinge, except perhaps about the weather here. I didnt ever purchase beans through the old system, but turnaround times on beanbay are excellent, and with the quantity of green beans I have sitting here after only a few months, I certainly wasnt in danger of running out during the extra days wait.

Andrew -- the roast sounds spot-on.
Yes, the peaberry is unusually great both in looks and cup! I expect you will love em, they are easily the best coffee I have ever had out of PNG and plenty of other CSrs agree.

beans arrived andy, youre a champ!

id never seen one before so the peaberry looks unusually great - i just roasted some - they start flurescent green, go flurescent yellow, then a sunset orange into a choclatey brown - the best looking roast stages ive even seen (okay, i havent seen very many). smells great too - but ive still got a fair bit of chaff stuck in the middle? roasted a cup for about 11 minutes, second crack started so i pulled them. sound alriight?

My beans are here, and I suspect that I may have been one of the Paypal mixups - my account was still showing payment pending yesterday morning. Its blowing a gale here though, and I have to get back to work, so I cant roast until tomorrow at the earliest.

    Andy,

Just out of interests sake, what was the total "tonnage" for the October BeanBuy.. ?

And how does that compare with say 6 months ago and 12 months ago.. ?

    Cheers...

I know Aussie Post cop a hammering BUT I deal with them every day and move literally hundreds of items per day and I think they are fantastic. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

    Re: October Beans

Great too see that the beans are moving quickly in the express post packs. Tassie, Brisbane and WA in under half a week... nice!

The Express Post really does help ensure that you are getting the exact same beans that were shipped as opposed to them sweating in the back of courier van or a road-train for a week or so. (yuck!)

It appears that I spoke too soon when I posted that all the PayPal payments were shipped. There was a PayPal "whoops" that one of our diligent members noticed. The email confirmation that I get from PayPal was on some orders "gobbled-up in a spam filter" and I only got to see 3/4 of those emails. A new process is in place where I will only reconcile against the actual PayPal statement which should help avoid the same problem next time. We are constantly learning to improve the process! Those missing PayPal payments were freighted this morning (in another case of sport car abuse).

Please check your order status, if it says payment pending and you have already paid please let me know as it may be a bank delay or a "whoops" from this end. Currently there are only about 12 payments that we are waiting for. ...the rest of the beans shipped Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
(hey, what else would I do on a week off work? )

    mine shows shipped 5/10
Yeah, its a feature of BeanBay. Sometimes shipped means "bagged, addressed and waiting for the courier to come tomorrow" which is why the date is always the following day. Satchels are similar if we miss the last post, although we freighted them today they wont leave the post office till tomorrow in some cases so its always safer to quote the following day as the shipping day.

So if it says freighted 5/10 it might mean 5/10 or it might mean 4/10

rayzurhed -- Wow... overseas in a couple of days. Glad to hear that.

Myrtle -- Glad your first BeanBay experiance was a good one. We used to be far more "clunky" and a whole lot slower. Many of the members remember the "bad ol days" of split plastic ziplock bags (resulting in a postie blend) and a wait of 3 weeks from poll to delivery.

JavaB -- I would guess Friday more likely as your beans shipped this morning.

Corretto -- Your payment must have cleared by Tuesday morning, shipped Tuesday and arrived 2000km away overnight. Nice work Aussie Post!
