    Re: October Beans

Im a big supporter now of moths and other assorted flying animals being added to a blend.

Cant knock it till you try it ;-)

Almost had some beatles in my roast the other night!

      ROFL

Ya, I reckon the extra protein boost causes enzyme release to deliver that fuller flavour.

Im experimenting with slaters - or maybe they are experimenting with coffee - whatever.

It seems to be voluntary on their part but they seem to be missing something in the experience.

Mostly they come out of the popper again really really fast and float aroung glowing orange - I wonder if it is a side effect of the caffeine?

Hehehe, yeah, likewise, if a bug flys directly in front of the heatgun they get vapourised pretty damn quickly. No flying out for those little thingies.

Must be attracted to the coffee !!

Excellent news - Im stuffed cause that is right in the middle of my sons birthday party but I will arrange for a fellow CSer to dual order with me if I can - any volunteers from WA?
          Grendel....

Im very tempted by some of the Aussie offerings this month- but I still havent made up my mind. Would probably only be a couple of kilos which Id be ordering.

If I do, as long as you know what you want (hope Andy posts a list soon to tempt us ), I could probably order them for you.

Which suburb do you live / work in?

OZ beans? Sounds interesting.but at the major market, cost still a big problem.

... three very interesting (and high grade) green bean offerings from Australia’s famous Mountain Top Coffee
I thought Id misread your original post. 3 different MTs? Thanks for the processing notes and its cool that you are offering all three at once. Would make for a good cupping. The Washed, The Dry and The Wonky :P

St.Ali have had some MT Bundja XF on offer during September. Ive found it to be a tasty bean
rather complete/rounded as a single origin espresso. Good aroma; both of the grinds and in the cup, and relatively easy to to pull shots with. Noice with the milk too! Before trying the Coast Peaberry and the Bundja, my opinion on Aussie beans didnt amount to anything fancy (or even extra fancy) :P

Starting to collect kilos of greenery, now need to get a home roaster... Usually the other way around isnt it? At least Lucatech, my contract roastery, is stil firing...

To bring the price down wed have to import the labourers.
The disparity between Oz arabica & coffees grown in other parts of the world doesnt mean the man is making more money, rather minimum wages are so much higher here in Aus than in almost all the other coffee growing countries. I can only think of Hawaii & Peurto Rico where a farmer would get a decent salary - both fall under the US wage umbrella.

I live in Brighton/Butler (just north of Quinns Rocks) but work in the city (west perth) - Im hoping Andys list is up there tomorrow with the bean varieties - Id only be after a few kilos myself but can easily arrange a funds transfer to you if you can order for us both.

So, yeah, can do. Will order for both and we can share the postage.... Id deliver em to the city and you could pay me then.... how does that sound?

Just as long as we get the list in time.....

Andy- where are you?????? (probably gone to get some more moths for the flavour ;D)

lol - yeah bogong in mine thanks for that nice meatiness.

Sounds fine JavaB - we could even do the trade in Epic if you like - sharing the postage works as well, decreased the overall cost of the beans.

I have a kilo of tiger mountain - as to whether it is spare, well that depends on what you have in stock!

I like the idea of joint buys - it cuts the postage costs a lot.
