2.30 is fine for me.Originally posted by grendel link=1164272867/105#110 date=1165107246No - Corey is very happy to have us there amongst all the customers - adds a certain coffee laiden air I reckon - we can still go ahead with a 2.30 till 3.30 pickup (if we get the beans) and I can take off from work a little early that day and go up to sit there minding the beans (and drooling over them). Not sure what JavaBs plans are but he might be another who can make it up there then. Alternatively I could also make it to an early session first thing in the morning from about 7am.
Im in Mill street in the city so if anyone wants me to collect their beans and have them pick them up from my office, Im happy to oblige.

Re: December BeanBay
When I got home yesterday after a few days away, what should I spy on the verandah but 2 rather large express post bags, woohoo.
I just opened them up to put them into the bean room, when I spied a little bonus addition/early xmas present taped onto one of the bags, thanks Andy.
Thanks again to Andy for all of your hard work during the year, keeping us supplied with beans, info and a great site. [smiley=dankk2.gif]
A huge thanks also to the site sponsors who help to keep the site up and running, for assisting us with our countless enquiries, and for supplying top quality equipment and service.

Re: December BeanBay
Andy, I reckon the bulk delivery is a great idea. With so many members willing to assist (only 10 % handling fee?), how could the system fail???
Cheers

Im still hopeful of a friday pickup, but we may do a quick straw poll on the time - Epic is open from 6.30 am but closes at 3,30 so for some the morning may be a better bet.
Was the 3:30pm pick up in there so it didnt interfere with customers?

Re: December BeanBay
Still Friday as far as I can tell but its out of my hands now. Im sure Grendel will get a heads-up when they arrive and if that isnt before Friday then I would guess you will have no trouble finding a local member to hold onto them for you.
Please understand CSrs that bulk deliveries to pickup points are on a BEST EFFORT basis. I can only do so much to make it happen in a very short period of time and if they become a burden then Ill drop the service quicker than a hot coffee bean of the roaster.

Glad you likes the tea Mal. Funny you mention the peaberry, thats what I just finished a shot of (roasted Thursday night, good on Friday, better on Saturday and if I have any left tomorrow Ill see if it improves more!)

Oh-oh.....I think Im in trouble.......
I thought the collection from Epic in Perth (Friday) was definite when I bought the beans. Im flying out o/s on Saturday for two weeks.
Do we have any ideas when the pickup might be now? I may have to organise for someone to pick them up for me.
Cheers

Re: December BeanBay
Gday Andy,
My beans and tea arrived today too. Very impressed with the tea, had to cup it straight away as the aroma was just too hard to resist..... absolutely beautiful :
. Will try out the Caracalito Peaberry next week to see how it compares with last years crop, and that was a beauty too 8-).
Mal.

Andy, I am with a credit Union, they are usually pretty good and super fast in processing stuff. They also dont have high fees either.

Re: December BeanBay
Very nice Grendel, Im sure everyone will be most impressed with the tins and their contents. Makes for a good ol time, sincere Christmas present made with love.

Sydney, Queensland and Perth bulk orders were couriered out today after the last of the payments came though.
Perth might be a little tight for next friday (have to wait and see) but Im sure the others will all get there in plenty of time.
Next year we will need to put some sort of cut-off for the bulk freight, if payments are not in fast enough then the offending members beans will have to be shipped on their own (at the owners extra expense). Its not fair that the slow payers can hold-up the delivery for everyone else.
Ill also look into other banks to see if we can find one that processes payments faster. The extra day that gets lost in the bank transfer twilight-zone can be the difference in getting beans out and moving faster before the weekend hits.
Anyway, most of the beans are moving around the country and if you didnt get yours this week then they should arrive soon.
Enjoy!

Ill let someone else speculate on particle size
The zip bag inside a cotton bag inside a satchel is a good way of moving this stuff around the country without fear of damage. Once you get it home I suggest a good odour tight container to keep the tea fresh.
Or if your name is Grendel then stick it into little billy tins (looking forward to seeing those too)

Done the tins and labels already - will post some pictures over the weekend!
Edited a little later by me: Why wait? Internet says I can have them now - or the design I did for the lids anyway.
