Great to see that some of the beans are starting to spot around the countryside.

The very prompt freight is helped by the regular bribes of roasted beans for our local couriers and the post office, a genuine win/win for all. ;-)

Most of the express post satchels should arrive tomorrow.

If for some reason you have not paid yet please do so NOW... we just dont need or want the time burden of chasing accounts (I would rather spend that time on coffee things).

Arrived home today to find an express post parcel on the doorstep. Yaay more green beans!
Thanks for the prompt service Andy! I was going to do the Brisbane pickup but with the cost of petrol it pretty much evens out
and I get my beans sooner.
So many beans to try out....
Is there a specific material that is better for making bean bags out of? My collection has rapidly swelled to over 18kg and I need to start working on a better storage solution.

"Zinfandier". Is that any relation to Zinfandel?

Yeah, it was Zinfandel, was tired when I posted and not thinking straight (though that is entirely normal for me).

What I tasted was very nice, cant wait to open the bottle when we have a chance. Maybe Saturday night as the child will be away and I may get some nice steak to eat with it.

              Gavin,

Natural fabric bags (cotton, muslin) are the best.... The same as Andy uses....

Beans are living organic material and need to "breath". They are excellent at absorbing aromas and flavours from nearby objects (dont store them near spices or herbs!!) and in a cool, dark area with normal humidity (no excess moisture!!). If kept this way they will last for years.

Think of the pickup as an event not a dollar saver. Its a chance for members to get together and share techniques, ideas and if you are at the right location some great sounding food too.

                  • Re: BeanBay - April

If you can roundup enough locals to use a pickup (20-25kg a month minimum) and can pick a venue (are you offering?) to host it then we can setup a pickup point next month.

We have lots of CSrs in Tassie but not many near each other.

I would suggest you start a thread (a different thread) to see if you can get enough interest for next month.

Thats pretty much how Adelaide, Perth and Brissy did it.

How can anyone in Tassie be far from anyone else?
The place is the size of a postage stamp.
Yeah but you have to go a lot further up down and around the hills ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great to see Aussie Post doing such a great job of getting these around the country.

The express post is a great service, a little more expensive than standard but knowing that the beans go directly to the members means there is far less chance that they will get damaged simmering and maybe sweating in the back of a road train somewhere.

The pickup locations beans all shipped this morning, each locations thread has the tracking information in it.

                              Enjoy your coffee CSrs!
