...whats the blue mountain like Sparky - it must be bloody sublime at the price (and thats taking into account how well priced the beans on beanbay are !!!!!).

Im not expecting too much. Its just a gamble and the chance to try it. Still cheaper than a bottle of Krug.

I wont be touching this one until I feel totally comfortable with the Corretto roasting. No margin for error at about 1c per bean

Hmmm, well I missed the email and had a morning with the Corretto and some red sea blend, got to work and ...holy.... What!?!?! Beanbay...

Im not disappointed though. I got 2.5 kg of the Peru Grace Estate and 1kg of JBM.

Im accumulating more beans than Im drinking, so with over 20kg of greens in stock I wasnt even intending to get anything...

Now to master the Corretto before I stick the JBM in.

....luckily it was pay day today.

Glad to see you guys had a good time with the bean bay. I missed out on the ones I wanted...such is life. Im disappointed but not angry..so dont worry Andy - no hate mail coming your way

To all I hope your Easter was filled with joy and fun...not to mention the soothing aromas of the Lords finest brew!

To all who missed out on their desired beans (I hope there are not too many of us), there is always next time!

Edit: I did grab some Peru and Columbian though...so all is not lost.

Is the Blue Mountain really that good......its more expensive an Cav or a good bottle of champers for a kilo!

Dunno Wu, Id be tearing my hair out if I had less than 15kg, with only a few varieties.

What a surprise to wake up to! An email about beanbay and all the beans still available! A leisurely read of the descriptions and no error pages.... positively pleasant! The hardest part was deciding what to get. The wife - "Do we really need more beans??" . After reading a few of the descriptions - "Yeah get that one! Oh yeah and that one."

    Thanks Andy!

Yes, thanks Robin, finally heard my phone beeping at me and got online. It is good to see lots of beans still available this morning - still some of everything which means that everyone should have a good chance to buy.

I actually think that while the surprise might be a shock to many it may work out as a better way of operating - no panic buying!

Id love to buy some of the Blue Mountain but it is out of the budget for this month - unless there are other Perth Snobs that might consider a 250g split?

Well, Ive finally taken the plunge

without knowing what to get Ive pulled the trigger on the following

    starter pack 1 $20.00
    Indian Monsooned Peaberry A 2.50kg $23.75
Peru (Villa Rica) Grace Estate 2.50kg $22.50
Brazil Monte Carmelo sun dried 2.50kg $21.25

now all I have to do is buy something to roast them in and convey how this is actually saving us money to the missus

That will be easy, I went from paying $32/Kg for fresh roasted beans to an average of $10/Kg and a little bit of time roasting which is just as much fun as drinking the fresh coffee at the end.

When she tastes the flavours and smells the aroma of freash roasted beans she will be asking for more... ;D

Yeah- soooper smooth this time..Almost orderly! Maybe we all get less agressive with a little sleep

Am I the only one who bought JBM? You gotta have just a little to impress the friends, no? This is a pretty rare one. As a black plunger coffee, theyre superb....Its worth a look guys/girls...

    ;D ;D

That was a rude shock this morning - get up and find a beanbay email - in the past!!
Another shock to find beans still there ...
So of course I bought more than I had planned.
No idea what to choose so got some of the Peru Grace Estate and the Columbia Volcan (sounds interesting).

Beanbay is always an exciting experience - looking forward to getting the beans.
