Yep seems to of gone very quick. Damm it, Got carried away with some other tasks, then remembered. Was only after some Decafe. May have to hunt elsewhere for some.

Andy - I was only charged (and paid) $22.50 for 2.5 kilos of the Yemen (but I thought it was $22.5 per KILO?)

If this was a system or "per/unit" error, let me know the best way to fix you up!

same here, Andy... i paid for 1 kg, even though i ordered 2.5 kg.. possibly because there was ony 1 kg left??
let me know what hte actuals are, Andy and i wil amend my payment if necessary.

i went for the tea when there wass 7 kg left, and when the page refreshed... nuffin....

Tea was at 7kg also when I clicked the link. I managed to get my kilo. And luckily I went to check out after that as my internet connection dropped straight afterwards
Luckily when I got back on there was an email telling me the tea was mine :-)
It will be interesting to compare this with the other darjeeling I have.

And if tickets to the concert of the year were going on sale, and you knew there were limited tickets available, you would also wander into the ticket office an hour after sales opened and expect to be able to buy? :P

ATTN YEMEN BUYERS

We had a rather large oops in the pricing on the Yemen beans in this BeanBay.
$22.50/kg should have translated to $56.25 for 2.5kg

I wasn’t sure how best to fix it when a clever CS’r (gavinc) suggested that we post an item with zero shipping and a value of $33.75.

So we have!

This is not like a concert of the year - more like the monthly shopping trip.

I too think something needs to be looked at re the quantities available. Last month I logged on within an hour of being told about bean bay coming up and all that was left were the robusta and peru - so with no other option, I bought them and neither of which I have really enjoyed.

So this time, to log on at 9:05 and find that half the product varieties are sold out already - I think someone should try to address this and supply more of the ones people want.

Im no expert, the computer system thing seems to work well, but Id just like to know that I can get beans (worthy of being sold to a coffee snob) when I need them, and the last two times I have been left disappointed.

And you can tell I was good. Some of the stuff left is Tiger Mountain ;-)

Theres still 97 1/2 kilos of beans in the green beanbay, I dont understand what the problem is........ I can tell you that you really cant go wrong with the ethiopian or any african for that matter.......

Believe me, I understand your frustration. When I first joined I felt the same way until I understood what goes on in the background and having been just slightly exposed to it involving the deliveries....even now, I can only still imagine.

This is certainly more like a special concert than a monthly shopping trip. These are highly sought after, top shelf premium products. There are other place where you can buy beans that are pretty stock-standard and in generous supply. And even if it were that, you would go prepared.

Imagine for a moment being the purchaser of these coffees and trying to select a wide variety of premium quality beans and paying for them by the tonne. Then hoping they all sell or you are stuck with them. Imagine too the logistics in packing the beans and shipping them out. Imagine doing all of this...not as your primary job, but as a hobby.

Take a moment to think - even if a kg of beans were to cost $7, then 250 kilos equates to $1750. Mulitply that quite a few times over, go check your bank account and if you have the money to spare, you can set up your own beanbay website....thats if anyone would come.

This is the first time Ive been successful in bidding - I took some steps to improve my chances...read my emails, research to know what I would like to buy, make sure I had enough money in the bank, and LOG ON EARLY and be part of the fun in anticipation.

I wish you well in the next beanbay - be patient...good things will come your way!
