Ethiopian Limmu - Sold out! I couldnt understand how that was possible, but I now see that it wasnt even on the list
Judy I looked at the Limmu and there was 10kgs maybe you just missed out.
My computer clock must be out by a few seconds. : Weird, as I said, I opened the page, it was empty, waited a second for the clock to show 21.00 and refreshed the page. Obviously, I shouldnt have waited that second.

      Judy,
there was more than 200 kilos of the Limmu on offer for a week over Easter. This was just a dribble.

      Remy,
I can only guess you had a double order in your basket or similar?!?!? I can see your "real" order in the system ok so it went through.
      Go figure!

        Re: GREEN BeanBay - 16th April 2008

I just bought a Multimeter, to be used with my soon to happen Corretto.

I thought I should have a better look (as if I knew what Im looking at :) and went to the link provided http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QM1538 It says: "Sorry, no records returned for your query. Please note; not all products are available in certain countries. Please try again." I gather it has been superseded, but have no idea which one of their current stock is similar. Can someone point me to one, please?

          Judy,

They were on sale a short time ago at Jaycar for half price (I assume clearing out the last of their stock)...

A quick scan of their catalogue indicates no similar multimeter (with rs232 computer output) although there are several which take temperature probes - but only display the results and therefore you cant use them with the CoffeeSnobs roast monitor.

Well, after a few months determined effort to get my stash down a little, I decided this month to get a very little coffee and some of the chocolate. Except that I was totaly engrossed in Underbelly, and forgot.....

Mad dash to the computer at 9.20 - only 2 kg of the spiced chocolate left, grabbed one of them, 1 kg of standard chocolate and some PNG. Waited until the next commercial and paid for it all. So Im happy.

              Hi Judy,
the other CSrs are on the ball, the Limmu was from last month (unpaid orders etc) and there was only 10kg. A lot of the others were also small lots which is why they are not on the email that gets sent out... else we would have a riot.
This reminds me, wanted to mention earlier - I didnt get the email.

Judy I just bought 1 as well, lots of C/Sers have this monitor so you should get the help if needed .My wife keeps using my other more exspensive meter for chocolate making so I thought Id better get 1 for roasting.

                    Re: GREEN BeanBay - 16th April 2008

                    Thanks JavaB,

It answers the question about why I couldnt see them.

I did know about BrownBay and bought some stuff thru there (which was lovely).

Being new to the forum I wasnt very clear, sorry. I actually wanted to see if the Green Beans on offer to be roasted (especially the PNG one) as it wasnt on the Brown Bay but youve answered that as well, thanks.

I assuming if there are any green beans left over from this batch (buy the looks of it, it all gets snapped up ) they can roasted and put on BrownBay. Is this correct?

                    Cheers

                          powelly,

Andy rotates various bean varieties through BrownBay..... and often after the Buy Greens you will find some of these available through Buy Brown..... He purchases some of the better (and most popular) varieties with this in mind and as well - some of the remaining beans will appear on the Buy Brown....

You just have to check from time to time what is on offer (or get organised for home roasting- like many of us do). It isnt that hard and you can then have the varieties you want all the time (well assuming you buy enough that is..... I think I have about 60Kg of green beans!)

Andy,. I went back into the bay of green this morning to have a leisurely browse without the growds ,.. I really enjoy reading your descriptions/findings for the greens and wanted to comment that its also great to see reference to where on the CS roasting scale (membership card) the beans perform well.

I know there are so many subtle variables in the roasting process that could alter flavours,..its particularly challenging for newbie home roaster using makeshift roasting equipment to get it all right as youd know, and the CS point that is referenced in the description while it could easily be achieved, the flavours might not come out as you described,..however despite that,...just having that point of reference is very handy for newbies in particular I think. Its something to aim for, especially when we newbie roasters know so little at the beginning and often just go for roast it and hope ya catch it before it burns. Thanks for taking the time to give the CS reference!

4702 emails were sent to the email address that you have in your forum profile. We do get a lot that bounce back as "user unknown" , "mailbox full" or "Im on leave".

Click on the [Profile] button at the top of this page and check that your email address is correct.

The other thing to check is your ISPs spam filter, sometimes it gets grabbed. We cannot do anything about that and can only suggest you use a different email address for the monthly CoffeeSnobs news/ BeanBay heads-up or add andy, webmaster, beanbaysales and coffeesnobs (@coffeesnobs.com.au) email addresses to your spam filter white lists.
