Ahhh yes, any faster I would have had to guess what you wanted.

The beauty of PayPal is that the fund transfer is instant and we can start the beans moving quicker. We do aim to provide the worlds best service every way we can. Service is such an important component of the whole experience and sadly (all too often) a forgotten art for some businesses.

To get the beans from a 9pm BeanBay to you today did require packing satchels after midnight and getting them to the main mail depot as soon as they opened on the Thursday... but we know"you guys" are worth it and are itching to get beans into a roaster. Thanks for noticing Michelle!

The smell of these green is just incredible.
Yeah, I dont think I mentioned that anywhere... strong sweet fruit aromas just from the green beans.

    Enjoy!

        Re: GREEN BeanBay - 14th May 2008

With 300kg left in the bean bay I will have the unusual possibility of going back for seconds after Ive roasted a batch.

I was lamenting to my main squeeze that the Yemen Ismali was a tad expensive. She cast an eye over my coffee paraphernalia and burst out laughing "Its only $10 per week !" Of course she is right - ignore the cost of the beans, just drink what you like.

        Chris

(8.5kg is not a stash, 69kg thats a stash - made me feel much better. You have to allow for cyclones, earthquakes, bird flu - a modest 26kg is just prudent)

Tis all relative really... 8.5kg is a huge stash for me,.. considering hubby is a tea drinker and apart from the occasional blowins... Im averaging two doubles a day.  Its the consumption rate to green quantity ratio that determines stash hugey woogeyness for the individual CSr ya know  :P

Well, considering the fact that I live alone, live in a flat with no pantry, let alone a shed or storage room, I have more than 10kg - most of it stored in the sideboard in the loungeroom! :

Thanks to Andy, who got a shipment off to NZ for me from the last bean bay.
The freight is the killer for me as it literally doubled the price of the beans, but hey at least we are drinking the same coffee.

                Cheers, CB.

PS: Keen to see your set up TG !

Yeah, me too! I just got a new Corretto and still trying to decide the best way to get it all out on the balcony. In fact, trying to find some sort of weatherproof box, so that I could store it out there permanently.

(Nice work on the roasting setup Thundergod, thanks for starting a new thread too)

                        BeanBay update:
I have just closed-off the pickup-point freight options around the country so we can ship the beans out with the courier on Monday morning.

We will have beans in BeanBay till Wednesday night for those that are shipping them via Australia Post Express or picking them up next Saturday at Veneziano First Pour (as I drive the beans to the pickup myself).

Oh joy! I just sneaked on for a look and picked up some of the PNG Wahgi, which I made a regretable decision not to buy last month.
                          ;D

I know! Its terrible.... 3 different types of beans appeared for sale and all 3 went into my shopping cart! I didnt expect new beans to show up so close to pickup. ;D

                                Re: GREEN BeanBay - 14th May 2008

I snuck some beans into BeanBay at 5am on Tuesday morning so that the readers of The Age Epicure had something to grab if home roasting appealed after reading the article.

There was a very small amount of the Wahgi, some Brazil Ipanema Special Reserve, Zimbabwe Pezuru  and Tanzania Tanganyika along with 3 excellent MTC varieties.

A sort of mini-BeanBay for our new friends so they didnt have to wait a month for the "real" BeanBay sale mid next month.

PS: I have just closed-off the Veneziano as an option for pickup as Im currently roasting the beans for Saturday and wont roast again before then.
