Re: CoffeeSnobs News and GREEN BeanBay - 22nd July

Andy, thanks for a great BeanBay!! I cant believe the Yirg went in a matter of seconds!

I was lucky enough to score myself some Yirg, Mexican and Cocoa. I learnt my lesson from the previous beanbay.

    Cant wait for next Saturday!

Wow! Im really surprised to see so much Yemen Ismaili still available... This stuff would normally fly out of BeanBay in a flash. If my finances hold up this week, might just have to lash out....

Re: CoffeeSnobs News and GREEN BeanBay - 22nd July

        Hi all
(well those that drink too much coffee and are still awake)

I had to work tonight so sadly wasnt about for the fun.  I got home a couple of hours ago and have just got though my email "to dos".

Can I please ask if everyone could be a little more careful when they get to the last button in BeanBay?  [Place Order]

All your order information is on the screen at that point, your shipping address, your order and how you want it shipped.  When you hit [Place Order], change your mind and send me an email not only does it take me 10-20 minutes of email replies it also takes around 30 mintues of dangerous live database edits on a web server a long way from home.  Multiply that by a dozen people and watch the site admin get cranky!

A few extra seconds of reading makes all the difference to my small amount of spare (sanity) time.

I joked with someone tonight that I might make as series of buttons... like maybe 10 of them that say...

are you sure?, are you sure you are sure?, is that really your shipping address?, do you really want it shipped by elephant?

...I would prefer not to annoy everyone with a dozen dumb confirmation buttons.

Plan B is is just to delete any order that has an error and if they can get the beans back out of BeanBay before someone else then good luck.

The best bet would just be a dose of extra care please.

        Fast Yirg?
I really think that people need to use the wishing-well a little more.  If we knew that the demand for the Yirg was that high and the demand for the Yemen less we could have purchased 2 more bags of Yirg last month when I placed the order and one less of the Yemen (although getting stuck with some extra Yemen is not a problem I mind)

I still think that the volumes and varieties are pretty close to correct even though they went really fast most people managed to get just what they were after.

Enjoy your coffee CSrs, there are some rippers in there again this month.

        A.

Sorry about the email Andy (and it probably didnt make much sense as i was exhausted). Essentially had to take a laptop to bowling as i league bowl on tuesdays. First order was placed because all the yirg was gone, i paid, then one of the girls in my league was fiddling with the laptop and said - "i thought you said all the yirg was gone." in a theatrical movie manner, i dived for the laptop (the room went slow motion and the scream NOOOOOOOOOO was heard reverberating around the lanes) and clicked to purchase the last 2.5 kilo. Moments later the laptop the laptop battery died, and I sent you the email when i got home.

The strangest part is that noone at the bowling alley batted an eyelid when all this went down.

                Hi Andy,

How about running a poll in the month prior to Beanbay so you can get a better idea of what quantities to order? Just a thought.

                    A new CS record!

That was pretty hectic. Ive never seen anything go as fast as the Yirg last night. I didnt need any - still have plenty left from last month. Just picked up some Mexican and valve bags.

Last nights rush reminded me of an on-line version of Aromafest - too crowded for us country folk. So I did what I had to then got outta town.

Another month, another great beanbay. Thanks Andy.

That Yirg flew out in a flash didnt it? I still have some from last months beanbay and although it was a different crop, I decided to remove it from my basket so someone else can enjoy.

I must say Im surprised to still see some Red African Cocoa left. This is great stuff and I thought that would have sold out in a matter of seconds.

I thought twice about the Yemen given the price, but having heard all the great raves about it I thought what they hey... so got my Mexican and Yemen and am very happy. Ill just have to eat less this month ... LOL.

I would swap Yemen for food any day.... has nearly enough body to be classed as a food too.

I still have a lot of chocolate from previous Bean Bays so reluctantly let this one pass again.

Andy I count my coffee as a part of my daily fruit intake.

Missed beanbay because I thought it was August when I checked my mail last night.

                            We will survive.

Andy and team I just have to say, as always, what an incredible site this is, and of course it is more than that, because there is a real world side to it that involves packing and sending millions of bags. We appreciate it a million times over!!!

And the new bags are awesome, I havent seen them before..

Thankyou!!! I really cant believe the speed with which you get this done.. more professional than professional businesses...
