Re: BeanBay GREEN - 21:00 Thursday 16th Oct 2008
I was tempted by the Yirg but still have a little from a previous BeanBay.
Considering my stash currently stands at over 100kg I can afford to leave it this time so others can enjoy.
BTW the Peaberry is now back up to 10kg after having sold out twice.

Cant believe you didnt get any takers for this game.... ;D ;DOriginally posted by beanflying link=1224048734/20#21 date=1224141990Just thought up a new game anyone want to play tonight?
Bean Roulette: Aim of the game is to buy the last of a bean variety of your choice. Those who sit on the refresh key and buy early are chickens and those who try after the last lot are losers as the Bean Gun is fully loaded and you are Dead out of luck
Wonder if the Yirg will go beyond 9.05pm

Valve bags have a weight, not a lot but they do. If we over pack the satchels then the post office returns them.
BeanBay calculates the total weight of your order and will let you know what the freight options and costs are at the "checkout".
Member card? Its in the "Other Stuff" area of BeanBay, you can order one with any bean order (except starter packs as they are freighted from a different location).

Or maybe she will buy you a Next-G wireless card so you dontOriginally posted by meander link=1224048734/0#17 date=1224105814Yep, i cant predict the weather either, i was just teasing. I guess my wife will be happy if I come home from pool earlier, occasionally.

Thank you Andy for your reply. I was just wondering if I were to order 4x250g and 2x500g one way valve bags from you at the same time, would you be able to pack this into the order to save a bit of freight? Will I get a membership card so I can check the colour of my roast ? Thanks again for your constant effort to source the beans. I am learning so much about coffee and roasting, thanks to your "starter pack". Cheers

Welcome to CoffeeSnobs aristocrat88!Originally posted by aristocrat88 link=1224048734/0#14 date=1224071944Hi Andy, Im new to the snobs, and I live in Hobart. Are you aware that theres a pickup point there? Does it mean if I were interested in ordering, that I have to order a minimum of 2.5Kg; and if there is going to be a pickup point, that the cumulative order from all the Tassie Devils will have to mount up to 25Kg? Cheers.
:
Pickup points need to exist prior to me sending the email (ie: they are entered into the BeanBay system so they exist in the checkout). Hobart always has a pickup (thanks to Simon!) so dont worry about the volume of beans.
The list of pickup points are in this thread:
http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1224048801
...and yes, Hobart is one. Details of the pickup (ie: when the beans arrive etc) will appear in that thread (not this one). ParaM (Simon) will prob contact you when the beans get there.
2.5kg is always the minimum order. It works for freight sizes, packaging and while you think that is a lot of beans it really isnt.
;D
No Meander.Originally posted by meander link=1224048734/0#15 date=1224073404Quote from the email: "We will have beans available in BeanBay all month but at a slightly higher price to cover driving to the post office and the additional time and costs incurred when freighting smaller orders around."
Does that mean you have bought enough beans to last past 9:05PM Thursday night? Buying green beans has meant leaving the Pool Club over an hour early, as I might miss out on buying beans. Can I play till 10pm tomorrow, and still get some (...beans)?
We will run out of beans at 9:00:01 or sometime after that.
How would I know? How would you know? Some BeanBays we could sell 20 tonne of one variety and the next one we might struggle to sell 100kg. We use best guess and unless you would like to offer to freight, pack, store, and most importantly, bank-roll 20 tonne so you can play pool then I guess I would recommend that you be at your computer at 20:59 or find someone with a Next-G card and notebook.
The last 6 months we have had 100-200kg left when I have closed-off BeanBay a few days later so it has been a long time since "we ran out of beans". Sometimes one variety gets "hammered" and I cannot guess which that will be.
Good luck... have fun.
