Freight and customs is the killer selling beans into other countries. we have done it before but not to HK. See if you can findout the local customs requirements for green beans and drop me an email ( andy@coff.... ) and we will see what we can do.

You can see the freight costs on the Australia Post website
    http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/int_parcel.asp
or for bigger orders XS bags and Boxes are pretty good
    http://www.xsbagsandboxes.com.au
...remember that the packaging will be around a kilo too.

    Andy.

PS: yes, it is a little off-topic for this thread. Email me these sorts of queries is prob best.

Hi- Not sure where this post might fit.

Im an Aussie living in Hong Kong and keen to start roasting. Buying fresh roasted beans here is almost impossible, - Ive found one place but at $500HKD a kilo ($100AUD at present!)

So, Im not finding it easy to locate people in Oz who sell and deliver overseas. Am I missing something or can any one suggest a good source?

Bugger me! Im used to the feeding frenzy of Beanbay, so when I realised at 9:27 on Tuesday that Id missed my reminder, I went in for a look anyway. Heaps of Brazil and Mexican left, which is what I was after.

Ordered, paid, and it was delievered yesterday - OUTSTANDING!

Keep your eye on this thread.

All will be revealed towards Bean Bay delivery time. Nunu (aka WotB) will reveal all (but I can safely say there will not be photos : ) )

    Edit - Andy.
Nunu (WineOfTheBean) will post in this thread when the beans arrive and you can sort pickup after that.

    Hi Andy,
I just ordered for pickup at Nunus at Carlingford on 28th Nov as I am close by in Pennant Hills.
    Question: Who is Nunu?

Last nights Beanbay was my third one, and I gotta say, it still shocks me how fast those little beans fly!

I got my 2 types pretty easily, Brazil and El Salvador (Ive been waiting for coffee from El Salvador to come up on beanbay - as Im from El Salvador and maybe Im a bit biased too!! )

Great BeanBay Andy! Cash is in the bank!

I was on @ 9pm to grab some. Similar story.
First few clicks after the starting bell took some time.
I was specifically after 3 beans due to my own tastes and someone whom I roast beans for.
I grabbed the Sumatran, Ugandan and Brazil in that order.
There was still some of each when I finished, but the Sumatran and Ugandan did appear to go pretty fast.

As Andy says, its hard to predict which one(s) will be the movers of the month, but still, its a great choice we get each time.

And there always seems to be something left even if you miss the frenzy.

    Brett.

For the first time in my CS life I was on standby from 8:55pm to get ready for the 9:00pm start. Refreshed it a couple of times at 8:59pm but no change. At the turn of the hour, when I refreshed it, it was a long delay to get the page opened despite having broadband! The ones I was eyeing were the 2 Africans, Ugandan and the Sidamo. When I was at the main page, there were 100+ kg of Ugandans. When I clicked on it to get into ordering it 3 seconds later, it was down to 50kg or so! I placed the order pretty much immediately and when I was done, it was down to 20+kg.
Second to go was the Lintong. I was a bit surprised about the popularity of the Lintong and the seemingly lack of interest in the Sidamo. I thought the 2 africans would be the first to disappear. Anyway, I got what I wanted and was seriously tempted to get more but lack of storage space saw me only ordering the 2 Africans.

Completely forgot Bean Bay last night.   I know, I know - sorry. It hasnt happened before and I promise it wont happen again.

But wandered into Bean Bay this morning and still plenty of beans (as well as the Darjeeling tea) to pick from. So, whilst I dont exactly need more beans, I had a leisurely stroll through what was still available and put an order in.

I love this new Bean Bay format - very civilised! Thanks Andy.

Oh, and I see we have another Greg on the books. Brilliant!  ;D

Looks like I was the lucky few who got hold of the Sumatran Blue Lintong, Just wondering whether its the same as the Blue Batak? As far as I know the Batak people is from Lintong.

And I am going to use this one as an Espresso base for my MILK blend, the usual Brazilian base is getting a bit too boring for the Palate.
