madpierre06: thanks, if youre willing to part with around 400g itd give me one shot at roasting? Im interested to try it out. PM me with your black market exchange deal   Ive got your Yemen waiting to go... Maybe I can sweeten the deal with a straight exchange for an additional 500g Yemen I found hiding in my stash?
Read it too quick, didnt see that bit about the extra Yemen  ;D  Ok, Ill do a half a k for half a k of the good stuff man. The big guy cany know about this, hes already watching me for doing black deals on filter papers   I dont wanna end up like Luca Brasi, man.

Once again lots of amazing coffees , journeys into roasting cocoa ,excellent tea, and chai. How lucky are we to enjoy a rich journey with other like minded snobs !
      Thanks once again Andy .

Which one, which one , cried Alice as she looked into her stash of green beans ....   ( apologies to Lewis Carroll  )!

Andy ...Are you thinking of taking on Cadbury?
Dont know about Andy, but I am! ;D

I have really got to get up to your shop too Dennis. Have been sooo busy, and always work on a Saturday so missed your openings, but I am hoping things slow down soon. Ill bring some of my chocolate efforts unless they are too embarassing. I have a melangeur in transit so am hoping to give it a real good go...roasting coffee just wasnt enough of a distraction from my otherwise stressful life, so chocolate here I come!

Nice work getting hold of this months fast mover on your first try, most of the time newbies are just left in the dust cloud. (obviously you were well trained)

sooo tempted by that Mexican cocao
As per the description, its pretty musty and ugly as a raw bean but the roasted product is great. A test roast of this produced very edible nibs with really low bitterness, I expect it will make exceptional chocolate.

Looks like we will have plenty to go around for a while yet, and as for taking-on Cadbury... no competition... our cocoa and cocao will beat them hands down already!

            8-)

Sorry Poddy, but I couldnt bring myself to spend the outlay on a Kg either. Would have loved to return the favour of supplying me with some Yemen.

Anyone near Wollongong who would consider going say thirds in a Kg? Id be up for some then...and send Poddy enough for a cup or two.

Aww and a pretty gold lapel pin. They look great Andy! Cant wait to get mine and wear it.
Yes, they are cute, along with the tiny tamper that fits that tiny portafilter!

I saw those lapel pins at Cafebiz in Sydney and thought that they were a great idea. Great to see that Andy has picked them up!

I could pop on over too if it helps.

I worked out karate so was ready to grab the Mexican cacao from the get go.
Looks like I neednt have panicked as theres still a fair bit there.
I couldnt pass up this opportunity.

Woohoo, how quick did the Yirga go
2min 31sec I counted, that was fun hitting refresh and watching it drop like a ...well like a 20 kilo sack of beans

I pounced on that yirg like a cat on a motorised mouse, yay
