I found my notificstion email last night after reading about all the problems.
It was about 22:50 when I found it and the email time said it was sent about 23:15.

I put it down to the same problems being experienced regarding the dates.

Sorry if the above posts of mine to come across as a whinge, it wasnt the intention as I do feel bad for those CSrs that missed out on something they wanted due to mail lag of not being online but we did have 150 people on last might at 8pm so I guess most had no issue.

Might have been a mail server or ISP issue.

Sending nearly 9000 emails is a big thump, some ISPs greylist the server because of the volume of email and only later let it dribble-in to CSrs inboxes. I see that happen on our mailserver quite often, certain ISPs mail servers pausing the inbound queue and only allowing a trickle... in theory the spammers get bored and go to another server, for us it means lag. That lag is ok if we have sent the email early enough but sending at lunchtime yesterday left little room for a hold-up.

The emails were sent around lunchtime from memory so they shouldnt have got there so late. I have another couple of things to try for next time which might have less reliance on email and ergo more reliability.

The email I received was timestamped at 11:17pm - however I definitely received it before 2pm - and looking at the data behind the scenes it appears to have been sent at *roughly* 13:17 and 56 seconds.

Same - received at 1.22 pm

As Andy said earlier, there were around 150 on @ 8pm so for the most part word seems to have got out.

Yeah, thats a gotcha with the forum. The forum is set to GMT and then told in your profile that the time is +10
Email sent though the forum (which is only BB emails once a month) then use the servers time (which is already +10) and adds +10 to it.

Strange I know but I dont dare change it else other things will break.

With anyluck YABB fix this little quirk in their code so I dont have to.

Thanks for your efforts last night getting the problems solved on the fly. [smiley=thumbsup.gif] If it was some of the big corporations they would sit back behind their customer firewall (call centre) and fix it the next day at their convenience. [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

My personal preference is to get an email. I dont know how you manage the email list but could you do a 1st and second mailing where the 1st one is people who have bought on BeanBay before and those who have visited CS in say the last month? That would probably pick up the majority of the very keen before the big thump.
