We should also thank Andy for the h-u-g-e quantities he has managed to acquire. Is this the first BeanBay where no bean was sold out by the end?
Ken oath, thanks andy a tonne, got what i wanted an hour after the beanbay started!, so happy! last month the PNG was gone in like 6 mins!, now there is plentiful ;D
Loving the new software Andy! Usually it takes me 15 min to access BB on the iphone in the middle of the weekly restaurant get together with mates, but last night the site was on fire. Quick as anything!
Just did a quick stock take and Ill be on 37.5kg once this BB arrives.

BB calculates the actual prices on the fly for your address but if you live in Tassie or even worse, in Darwin then the courier surcharges can be way higher than AustPost Express.
...which is why we have tried to give people a range of shipping choices so they can find the one that suits their destination/weight/wait the best
Yeah, Im a fan on the updated shipping page. Its well laid and easy to use, and calculates everything nicely. I also like how all of the pickup points in my state are highlighted! Made it easy to find the one closest to me. As a web developer myself, i know that its hard to get those kind of pages just right. Infact Im working on an online booking system right now myself :-)

$1.77/kg is VERY cheap for postage to Tassie
Sure is! We have never shipped that cheap to the Tassie pickups in the past.

AUS post was actually cheaper than the courier on lighter orders.
***note***
That was correct for YOUR address.

I got delivery to the local pick up point. $1/kg verus $1.77/kg. I assume that its still going through star track express to Alistair anyway, and Im in no rush for beans. The estimated date of the 26th is pretty awesome -- thats only just over a week. Im guessing that the 77c/kg saving is covered by the sponsors & the fact that sending one big parcel is cheaper than sending many separate parcels that total the same weight. Thanks CS Sponsors!
Oh, btw... $1.77/kg is VERY cheap for postage to Tassie :-)
Also, out of curiousity I was playing around with the weights of packages in my cart, and notices that AUS post was actually cheaper than the courier on lighter orders.
Im glad Im not the only one buying way too many beans. I thought that having 16kg already, and buying another 7.5 kg tonight, was wrong... Was obsession... Was just downright silly.
Now I realise the opposite: that I have to try harder to keep up with you lot
Another great BB... been over at Simsys, computers set up on the kitchen table, kids in a feeding frenzy and us oblivious to all but gettin our orders in and talkin coffee....great fun ;D ;D ;D ;D
a) Get to have a chat with other Snobbers and/or staff over a cuppa at Venezianos and
b) Can control timing of beans coming into house so gives me time to reorganise cupboard so stash doesnt appear to have grown (most important) 8-) (dear, ill drop you at work, have a couple things to do and I know youre bored about looking through BCF - will come and pick you up from work then we can go grab a coffee somewhere)

I prefer to stick with the tried and proven $15 oz post satchel
Fair enough too, Australia Post has been a stable and reliable service for CSrs for years. We have sent 1000s of satchels and lost very few.

I didnt notice it as a delivery option.
The Star Track Express courier is only shown if you are getting it delivered to a business address that is not a PO box.

I used the Star Courier option
Ahh yes, different company (tis confusing... Star Couriers and Star Track Express). Star couriers only deliver to Melbourne metro so most CSrs dont see that option. They have given us great new pricing as we send a pretty big volume each month.

I used Startrack for my 30kg order
Ah yes, the Star Track Express Road option is very good for this. Depending on your location around Australia and the volume of beans it can be as cheap as a pickup point but quicker and direct.
Im not too sure how long (or if) we will have these STE options for freight, I expect that the company will up our prices if we are this far off our projected usage.
I havent counted in a while, but I reckon Ive got 50-60kg of beans downstairs. And thats not counting the 12.5kg I just beanbayed ;-)
I think the performance has improved on beanbay. So I could get on beanbay as quick as I could, I left my netbook in the cat. Then when I was finished up with my tennis lesson, I rushed to my car, plugged the usb cable into my nextg phone, and shasham, I had bought 12.5kg of beans from the comfort of my car. Everybody who walked past, must have thought I was a complete nut job though! I was really impressed by how fast, and responsive it was over 3g. ANd even better, there were still beans left!! :-)
