Re: BeanBay Green Sale - Dec 7th 2009
This is an Outlook meeting request that went out earlier today to make our work day on Christmas Eve go that little bit quicker/be a little more fun (for those that are at work on Christmas Eve).
Having now typed this Ive just realised the Beanbay beans will only be a couple of days roasted.Jaso, XX, XX and XX have suggested this morning over coffee that we will organize an Espresso Day where the coffee gurus (Ed: These are not my words but those of an instant drinker) will bring in their espresso kits and exchange coffee ideas and try different beans on Christmas Eve for those that are interested. Itll be fairly informal, open to everyone and a great opportunity to try the different machines and coffee we each have here at work and at home.
This year:
Jaso will bring:- his grinder and espresso machine (Ed: My Rancilio gear - Refer sig); and
- Some home roasted Single Origin beans from Tanzania, India, Uganda, Guatemala and the Chinese Yunnan province)
- All free to those that wish to try something different
XX will bring his coffee bean grinder (Ed: Its one of those Sunbeam bladed jobs - I cringed when he told me)
YY will bring his tasting buds LOL. Ok, XX will bring cupcakes.
Attendees please feel free to bring in other stuff.
Oh well - Im sure theyll like it all the same. ;D Just happy to be sharing my own interest and enthusiasm with the heathens......less well informed.....

Ditto for meOriginally posted by 38322730303F2B2D5E0 link=1260021216/51#51 date=1260220661I also like the idea of rationing beans of smaller quantities - much fairer. Id like to see this used in every BB if possible for exclusive beans and then opening up if theres some left after the initial mad rush.
Thanks as always andy. The BeanBay buying experience has become a real pleasure and is a testament to the passion and dedication that is in your character. It is evident not only from the range and quality of beans on offer but the ease of the transaction. Any minor problems (and these are very rare) have always been quickly and cheerfully rectified.

Ahhh, I see, just logged out and checked, sure enough there it is. ;DOriginally posted by 3D372235353A2E285B0 link=1260021216/53#53 date=1260224370Thats because you have already bought your quota. Its like the Starter Pack: you can only buy it once and then its removed from your BeanBay shopfront.Originally posted by 0F333A2237560 link=1260021216/52#52 date=1260223266Note with interest the Rononi has disappeared from the listing this morning.

Re: BeanBay Green Sale - Dec 7th 2009
Sounds like it was a bad time for most people, but 3pm worked great for me. Although my job does entail sitting behind a computer all day :-) Site was really fast and worked great, as its often slower right on bean bay time.
I was also excited to see that there was also a selection of other beans on there that I am running out of!

I certainly agree with that Flynn, was pleased to be able to pick up some Rononi when I got round to placing an order last night.Originally posted by 6E64716666697D7B080 link=1260021216/51#51 date=1260220661I also like the idea of rationing beans of smaller quantities - much fairer. Worked for me. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]Originally posted by 0E212B364F0 link=1260021216/48#48 date=1260189610So... how was an afternoon BeanBay for everyone?
I like the idea of the extended BeanBay opening though I dont know how much extra work that will generate for you. Now that you are buying larger quantities few, if any, snobs miss out .

Re: BeanBay Green Sale - Dec 7th 2009
Fine for me. I logged on at 7pm and was delighted to find the Rononi beans still available. So I bought some and a bottle of Masons Creek Corregiola olive oil. The process was quick and painless. Re: BeanBay Green Sale - Dec 7th 2009
Nor me! I didnt think another BB would fit but the Rononi just landed and there was no way I could keep that a secret for any longer. As it was it took months to buy, freight and land it and once it was here I was hopping from foot to foot with excitement like a little kid at... well, like a little kid at this time of year!Originally posted by 392225383E232F2C2538272F4A0 link=1260021216/47#47 date=1260184827Cant believe youve managed to squeeze in another BeanBay this year Andy

It worked very well from my side. I was packing orders as the payments came through PayPal and as such, all the PayPal orders that were paid before 5:00pm odd shipped today and should arrive at most places tomorrow.
The couriers and the post office all got a pile of beans today and tomorrow morning all the bank transfers that were done before 5pm should appear in our account and we can ship those out tomorrow too.
8-)
