Australia Post e-parcel has been a BeanBay option for a while now, you would have had the option along with two other (cheaper) couriers options too when you placed the order.
For some unexplained reason you chose the most expensive one.
...and as CKSYD suggested, if you get them deliverered to a pick-up point they will become $1/kg all over the country.
Oh, just for the record, our freight is subsidised... you always pay less than the actual price.
Next time you buy something from BeanBay have a look at the freight page a little closer, all of the freight is calculated to show you how much each option is. You can then select the service that suits you best.

Hi Andy, I recently bought green beans from Beanbay and received the shipment via the Australia Post Express Post Satchels ($55 for 17 Kg) but the cost is pretty high in comparison with the eParcel service ($8.14 for 14 kg) used by another supply source. Can I opt for eParcel service next time I buy from Beanbaby? The saving is substantial as you can see. Thanks a lot.
Welcome YK..... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Best way to contact Andy is via email mate. Hes a pretty busy bloke and doesnt always get the time to peruse through all the boards of this forum....
Welcome to Coffeesnobs, interesting first question.
Anyway,
Sure, if you see a checkbox for eParcel, go for it...
If not, you may want to investigate pickup points as an option in your area. That would cut freight substantially. If you are in Melbourne, Im figuring freight would be zero.
Regardless, Express Post satchels for 17kg of anything is not really an economic transportation method.

Will it be in stock to make the victorian pickup on the 23rd??
Making the assumption you are still talking about cocoa (this is getting very disjointed and a tad weird to read)... no and yes and no and yes.
The pickup in Melbourne is not the 23rd. Its tomorrow, the 16th but because of the potential of getting roasted orders that we cannot fill in time on the 11th hour we have "closed" the pickup point option in BeanBay.
The cocoa was in stock yesterday and still is still available last time I looked. It would be possible for me to bring some with me.
Maybe email me to keep it simple? andy@ is always the best address.

Errr... I dont what question you are talking about and ergo cannot answer! We didnt remove it.
Did you dream it?
Dont think so... it displayed like a normal posted message for a while, then vanished. Was about whether I needed to be home for the courier, so now a bit redundant, since he turned up today, thanks
