being an absolute true-blue snob, I only want to buy green Arabica beans
    Hi Terry,
    welcome to CoffeeSnobs!
We only sell arabica beans unless the description says otherwise.

Its not often that we will have a robusta and when we do its actually very high grade and well worth trying... dont be fooled, not all robusta is nasty and not all arabica is good!

I remember it being very smooth and velvety, i cant imagine anyone objecting to the taste.
Yes, it is all that but its still 10 times the price.  Grange is a nice red but is it worth 20 times more than a $25 bottle of red from the same region?

Some say YES, some say NO.

I dont want to talk anyone out of the JBM, heck, Ive already spent the $3000 so I hope it all sells but it is one of those coffees that you typically try once just to know for yourself.

Only a few kilometers away according to google earth.... over the hill and across the lake.

Size wise ... what screen size would PNG Wahagi be ?Flaviour comparison... Less Sweet ?
Wahgi would be 18+ so not a lot bigger at first look but certainly you see it in the finished roast.  Sweetness was similar but I didnt do a side-by-side compare.

      Please Note:
Due to the higher volume of the Monsoon beans we have packed them in 2kg lots.

another great selection this month Andy!

Just looking at some of the beans still in beanbay at the moment, are you able to shed any more light on the Sidamo Guji? Is it the same as the one from late-ish last year or a different one?

        Thanks!

Just a quickie about the *robusta* ooohhhhhh

How would that go roasting in a popper, have always been interested in trying a decent robusta even if it just ends up in blends

the indian malabar is the bean thats always talk of the town aint it?

Thats how I roast my Robusta when I use it, 250g of Hottop at 10% is a LOT of blended beans so a popper load works well

Re: BeanBay GREEN sale - 14th Feb 2010

My "no bean purchases for 2010" resolution is looking shaky already.

Ive got enough beans for two years, some of them over a year old. I know they last well, but logic suggests not pushing the limits by increasing the backlog further. But then along comes some Monsoon malabar ...

Until recently I roasted Monsoon lightly and loved it with 1-2 weeks rest. Have just tried it a bit further beyond SC with 2-3 weeks rest, and its a whole new world of loveliness. So different, but so good.

Too much bean stock is never enough!

Sounds familiar, Ive now taken over a quarter of a large cupboard in the kitchen with beans, roasting gear and other coffee stuff, not to mention a good portion of bench real estate taken up by rocky and silvia

told the bf id be looking at more beans and got that blank youd better be kidding look

Tis the same one. I found half a bag last month and bagged it up.

Dunno but they should.  I have seen a couple of very small domestic grinders that struggled with the size but they were whitegood store cheapies... I think most grinders aroud these parts will handle them fine.

Hi Andy, will there be any pick-up with this Bean Bay sale at Veneziano in Melbourne? From the sound of the beginning of your post, it doesnt sound like it. No worries either way - just wondering. Am in the area every Saturday morning anyway.

Can you advise if the JBM is peabury or not?

                              Not.

I have never seen a Jamaican Blue Mountain peaberry.

Apologies if this seems to be a silly question.

Im actually hoping to take part in the upcoming bean bay sale.

If I order through the site this evening, and elect to pick up, can I add other items from the Bean Bay store? Or is this limited to beanbay sale items only?

I was hoping to pick up some bags plus a coffeesnobs membership card to help as Im new to roasting
