The beans available at the above date/times will be:
Mexico Yeni Navan Typica $10.50/kg*
Typica is my favourite varietal in nearly all blind taste tests is also one of the original coffee variants. This Mexico Yeni Navan is grown at high altitude SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) and was certified organic at origin. A Typica varietal with dark cocoa flavour, good body and enough acidity to give a long, lingering aftertaste. A great single origin that worked best for me at a dark CS10.
Kenya Kakamega AA $12.50/kg*
In the last few years we have seen many price rises on Kenyan coffees as the demand outstripped the supply and after trying the Kenya Kakamega it’s easy to see why. This one has a crisp green apple type of zing in the lighter roast depths and the body continues to improve as the roast darkens. Great Kenyan coffee at a reasonable price!
Sulawesi Rante Kapua Torajah $10.50/kg*
After a long hiatus we have sourced more of the Rante Kapua. Roasted to a CS9 it was initially sweet with a cardamon type spice finish and a heavy viscous body. This Sulawesi drinks very well as a single origin espresso shot.
Sumatra Danau Toba $9.50/kg*
This is the first time I have seen the Danau Toba from North Sumatra. Wet hulled with a bluey/green appearance in colour. It roasts well with a few lighter beans in the finished result. It produces low acidity espresso shots with the mouth feel similar to cream. Slightly sweet with some savoury, earthyness at the finish makes this another great Indo.
* Prices include a $0.50/kg FairCrack donation. All beans are packed in 2.5kg cotton bags which are perfect for storing your beans in.
