This may or may not be the right place to ask, but with the silly season fast approaching is there a "downtime period" set in stone for Beanbay (regular roasting and deliveries)??
Nothing in stone this far out but...

Im hopefull that we will get green beans off the docks next week, its a bugger getting stuff out of the docks at this time of year as EVERYTHING moves slowly due to the influx of Christmas containers and silly season holidays but if we do get them then we will have a Green Bean sale in the next fortnight with pickup point deliveries by 18th December.

Roasted coffee will remain on our schedule of Wednesday and Sunday roasts until the 22nd December.  Im going to pencil-in a week off between Christmas and the new year to spend some time with the kids so have adjusted the BeanBay-Brown description to:

    SCHEDULED COMING ROAST DATES: 28/11, 1/12, 5/12, 8/12, 12/12, 15/12, 22/12, 2/1 (Note: maybe on a break 23/12-1/1)

But the actual dates might change around a little before then.  Rest assured that it will be at most 2 roast days missing from the normal schedule.

Im sure the family wont be happy if Andy says he needs to get a roast out on Christmas Day!
My lot would nearly expect it!

I picked up my supply of Monsoon Malabar and Harrar Longberry from the Hobart local pickup point tonight and have done a couple of quick popper roasts to set me up for weekend coffees in a week or two.

Thanks for a great service Andy and thanks for being such a helpful local pickup ParaM.

Mines arrived too! Just had a chance to make my first roast of the Hati Grand Cru last night. I accidentally stopped the first batch a little lighter than I expected so I chewed a bean up to see what it tasted like. I was amazed at how smooth it was! Im avoiding the temptation to brew a cup straight away, but Im sure it will be amazing!

The Malabar looked really interesting as well but I passed on it this time. Might get some of that in my next purchase if theres any left.
    Thanks again Andy!

Mine arrived today too - so quick!! I jumped on the Haiti Grand Cru as well - my wifes surname is Beaumont, so this was something I just had to get... ;D

Really looking forward to having a play with the Malabar Monsoon as well - had a few different versions roasted, and now I get to have a go too

Keep up the good work Andy!

For the WA crew, will it be the 27th at caffeinefreaks place get together? I missed the last couple, so Ive got 10KG... which will last me 6-12 months depending on my addition levels .

Who me, I think its worth getting the starter pack, mine has in it 2 ethiopian, brazil and peru beans.

I dont think Andy would add to the starter pack something that is a special in the BeanBay sales, so I think you are pretty safe that you wont get the Monsoon in the starter pack

I cant wait to start roasting, I also bought a bag of a bean I thought Id love so Ill be test roasting with the starter pack beans and moving on to the other bag once I have a decent start into roasting.

    And so it begins.

Less than a month ago I posted that my consumption of 500gm/month meant I was unlikely to be roasting my own beans.
Then I see the green bean sale and the same day see a mistral popcorn popper on flea bay for 99 cents...

So, question is - what is in the starter pack? Im thinking of ordering an additional bag of beans as it can all go on the same courier, but dont want to double up.

Ill probably order the monsoon malabar if it isnt already in the starter pack.

Hah, yea i was actually roasting in my garage when the postie pulled up with my goodies. Opened the bag to have a look and couldnt believe the colour and weight of the Malabar (So light!) and couldnt resist giving them a spin.
