Is it the flavour, body or crema you are chasing?
I lack the vernacular to say.  The Monsoon has a deliciously dark taste, even when not roasted dark.  I guess its the taste/aroma and the lack of acidity.  Very smooth with a sort of sweetness.
Ill have to keep a lookout.

Just aside, what happened to my post at 7:34 PM?  It seems to be missing.

I thought it pretty clear and have since re-read it a few times but i guess all words in written form are open to be misinterpreted.

If anyone did actually misinterpret, i apologise.

This is the trap when you post in a public space, although you know and I know that I sent them on time your choice of wording could easily be read as "Andy dropped the ball this time"...
Your reputation around these parts is flawless, Andy, so id like to think that most wouldnt have seen my post as critical of yourself, rather critical of the courier.

...and I pride myself on providing excellent service (which is also why I average 100-120 hours a week).
Your service has been outstanding, a point ive made many times on these boards.

Its worth commenting here that if ever anyone has a problem with anything its always worth contacting me directly (email or phone, not PM or a public post) and give me a chance to sort it.If after doing that and your not happy with the effort I have put in then feel free to give me a public slap.
Normally id have taken it to email (as ive done once before when ive had a query about Beanbay) but as my point was about the couriers rather than yourself, i saw no point in bothering you with an issue you cant fix.

In hindsight i probably could have emailed you about the fact that tracking hasnt worked since October rather than posting it but it was more of a comment in passing rather than an issue given that, as i said in my first post, its not been an issue in the past because ive never once had even the slightest delay or problem with getting my orders on time.

Im sure weve both devoted way too much time and keystrokes to what was intended as nothing more than a frustrated vent aimed at the couriers, but as my better half will tell you, i can talk (or in this case, type) all day long and simply must have the last word.  ;D

The only reason that I replied here was to help clarify what really happened to those that misread the intention of your post.

I actually sent them when I should.
Other times they might have been sent before we had payment.
I know all that, Andy, and appreciate it, but my comment was simply that you sent them later than you usually do rather than saying you sent them later than you should.

With the tracking system either unavailable or not working for a few months it makes it hard in situations like this to know where things are and when theyll be delivered.

You ordered Tuesday night, your bank transfer appears in our account on Thursday and the beans ship same day we see payment.

You should have got them today but maybe the courier had trouble, had too much on, or something similar to cause a lag.

The annoying thing is that the courier picked it up from the depo on Wed afternoon so its been sitting in his van for two nights.
Ditto for this one. I know you guys are excited but please give the couriers a fair break. They get 100s kilos of beans dumped on them during BB week and Im sure they try their best to get them all on board and delivered the same day. Sometimes they wont and you will get it the following day (and you did get them the following day!)

    Nice!

Hope they are as great as the Wahgi
Im sure you will like the Kone Ka Estate even more than the Wahgi AA, we have had excellent results in multiple roasts and have been giving both the peaberry and the "flatberry" a flogging in the Snobbery grinder.

I seem to be able to cruise through 10KG at twice my anticipated rate
Ive said it before but do you remember when you started roasting and thought "2.5kg is a lot of coffee". We all did it once.

Moonsoon malibar... when is this next in?
I dont know of any new crop enroute but we have Indian samples arriving all the time so when a good one is available we should know about it! We landed some great Indian coffee this week that will be in the next BB but its a washed, not monsooned one.

Its just got here so its been two days.

Ive never had any problems with Andys Melbourne courier option, in fact with Tuesday Beanbays i have always received my beans by 10am on the Thursday morning, but this time around ive lucked out.

I know Andy sent the beans a little later than he normally does but they were still out with plenty of time to arrive in the AM today, fulfilling their next day claims, however unless theres a really late delivery its going to be a five day delivery for me.

I held off on my roasting this week so i could roast some of the new beans so it looks like ill be doing some post-midnight roasting tonight for otherwise i shall run out of browns by Tuesday. :-[

Shapeshifter, I think that the cheapest courier available to interstate addresses is reputable. Being so close to Andy in Melbourne we have the option to use very cheap local companies. For example, the one I picked only charged $8 for, up to 25kg (I didnt need that much!).

Andy did his normal wonderful job and had the order shipped Wed morning. Its just got here so its been two days. The annoying thing is that the courier picked it up from the depo on Wed afternoon so its been sitting in his van for two nights.

Ive simply got to stop being cheap and spring for one of the better couriers. I can use the more expensive couriers (or auspost) and keep the same delivery cost/kilo ratio by simply buying more beans.

I thinks thats a fair conclusion dont you?

Beans still havent arrived at Melbourne bayside, anyone else have problems with them or is it just me?
Patience grasshopper. Have you received an email from Andy to tell you the goods have been dispatched yet? If so, it can take 2-3 days for Auspost. If not, then take it from then.
