Re: Monthly BeanBay GREEN Bean Sale - Monday 18th July 2011

Im getting a little excited now - thisll be my very first pick up and a chance (maybe?) to meet other snobs at Veneziano (West End ) Brisbane.

BTW is 170kg of green too much?  : My current stash is starting to bulge at the seams, but I couldnt resist this months offerings  ;D It reminds me of the Borg - resistance is futile  :-[

I cant decide what to roast first, so I think Ill just have to roast everything. and then drink it and start again.

I like the online tracking option with Australia Post.
Its not a bad system. We do have a few gotchas, one is because I deliver the parcels direct to the Auspost mail sorting depot they dont get scanned so the tracking shows nothing until they get to the other end.
The upside of delivering to the depot is they move faster, sometimes saving a day which I think makes it worthwhile.

Those using Star Track Express... you can use your invoice number as the reference on the Star Track tracking, it will return a list of articles and you just select the one starting with EHO. The link in the email from us only works sometimes as its a different tracking code. I hope to get that sorted soon(ish).

that WARNING on the box cracked me up
I knew it was pointless getting "fragile" or "handle with care" stickers as most couriers read that as "football" so we tried to appeal to their inner coffee snobbery instead.
    ;D

I havent been this excited since x-mas morning.
Cack. We all know what you mean. Im the same when it clears customs... (Insert silly little happy dance)... and I cannot wait to get some in the roaster to ensure it was the same as the pre shipment sample.

All the interstate pickup point coffee shipped today, it should all arrive in time for the 29th ETA.

    Enjoy!

Its moments like these I wish I home roasted.
Why wish? Why not do it? Its not hard. You can get good results from your first attempt using a popcorn popper. Theres a mountain of information in the Home Roasting threads.
    Walking before I run basically.

I like the online tracking option with Australia Post. and I love seeing the words "Onboard with driver".

All I need now is a rocking chair on the front porch so I dont have to constantly look out the window ...

    Love the new sticky tape!!
Yeah so do I (small things can amuse me for hours though). I even got comments from the staff at the mail center who said that we had parcels in nearly all the different region cages yesterday as they could see them from across the room.

Excellent service again thanks Andy. I was woken up this morning by a phone call from the Fastway courier asking what to do with my box of Great Coffee since nobody was at home!?

Hang On!! Im home Im home!! I shouted and rushed to the front door to drag the heavy buggar in (the box not the courier). Love the new sticky tape!!

I would also recommend the Fastway shipping option - nice of him to ring my mobile before leaving that card in the box (wish AusPost would be as thoughtful)!

Thanks Mr Freeman, exemplary service as per normal. Used the Fastway option the last 2 orders, great price and service. Certainly no issues with the other options, just better value. A big thumbs up.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I packed till midnight at which time I think snow clouds were forming inside the Snobbery and came back early this morning to continue.
How are your hands after closing so many bags with the metal ties?
Im probably doing it stupidly but i always end up with sore thumbs after opening and closing bags.

The first courier arrived just after 9am and yours was in that lot. You were lucky it arrived today, the planets must have aligned as I expected tomorrow morning woud be more "normal".
    Yeah, absolutely.
Once i noticed that itd been picked up by the courier i thought itd arrive tomorrow morning, as is usually the case, so it was a nice surprise when i saw the courier pull up just as i was getting home.

Would you anticipate any evaporation of stashed yemen?
If that were to happen it would only be to ensure the quality of the storage environment.

Even by your lofty standards, thats incredibly good service, Andy
Yeah, Im pretty impressed with myself sometimes too.

Plenty of other orders shipped today too and multiple courier pickups and a trip to the post office with half a van full.

Packing tomorrows shipments now and I expect most everyone with direct shipping should have their beans before the weekend.

The pickup point options will remain open till sometime tomorrow and then they will be packed and will ship Thursday morning... which should ensure they arrive everywhere by the estimated 29th July.

    Happy roasting everyone!
