    Re: February BeanBay

For those who missed out, try 50/50 Mexican and Honduran as a pre-roast blend....It travels really well! Last time I dabbled with this I got good chocolatey tones, some earth and nuttiness.

Hmmm... very strange. I just tested that and it worked fine. Selected the free option for QLD and it didnt charge for shipping. Maybe you are special?

My mum always said I travelled on the special bus to my special school cause I was special. In fact I thought until recently that special dogs did special white dry poos.

I found the error, it was mine. I was so pumped for the transaction I missed the shipping option, changed my shipping details to "Corettos" and proceeded, leaving my cart empty, then I did the whole thing again.

Im sorry for stuffing that up Andy, I hope it doesnt cause too many problems.

Just snagged some Bali Gunung Agung and Tanzania Arumeru Estate - the left overs!!

My hubby was just asking when the next bean bay was cause were running low and I said shouldnt be far off... low and behold the day that I dont go into work and Andy springs it on us. Only found out about bean bay this morning.

Glad there was still some left. Thanks Andy. Looking forward to trying something new.

            Too bad.....

I though the bean bay only start on february and missed out most of my dream bean (Nicaragua Maragogype, Mandheling, and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe>, )

Now can only try the honduras and mexico blend (as suggested by 2mcm ;D) and waiting for next poll.

TG, the day of pickup isnt firm.  You can pickup from Di Bartoli anytime after the specified date/time.  I go the Monday after, since it is my day off.

Save yourself some cash, and go pick them up.  Theyre happy to hold onto them until its most convenient for you.  Some peoples bags were still there when I picked mine up last time.
Thanks for the heads up nunu but PayPal is done and the price is still good for 5kg all up.

Although I figured what you said might be the case, it was a bit late to ring Renzo to double check. ;D

Ill keep it in mind for next time as another excuse to visit Renzo and Ofra.

                      Re: February BeanBay

Thanks to Andy and CS, this was my first BeanBay participation. I look forward to the Perth pickup from Epic!

I will be brewing on a Presso, roasting with a Breville Crazy Popper, grinding with Sunbeam EM0480 or 0450, and I bought 10kg of the Ethyrnopian to eliminate variables while I get up and running, and also the Starter Pack to start trying blends once I get confident. I figure Ill be roasting 250g per week average so this should be my mainstay for a long time and I can try smaller quantities in coming beanbays for variety and blending fun!

                      cheers,
                      Stoveboy.

Oh no....Gone already! I must have logged off last night about 8ish, talk about bad timing, I was hoping to get some yirg and mandheling....Not to worry.
                        Ill try this mexican/honduras blend.

Anyone one got any yirg or mandheling they want to offload????

Not hard to sell a bag of Mandheling to a coffee lover, is it?

                            No, its not ;D

Kind of like the Darjeeling of Teas equivalent I guess

                              No problem Sparky.

I thought it was the LEAST I could do after getting the good oil on roasting/cupping/blending/modifying/living here on Coffee Snobs.

Luca, do you think Id be able to do the same. Im not available on the Saturday of the pick up but have Mondays off...
                                Hey David,

Its an inevitability that people will leave beans behind, so I cant picture it being much of a problem.

                                Cheers,
