Melbourne deliveries are often fast (only 80km from here), other states will see the Expresso Post (errr... express post) packs tomorrow.
Half of the BeanBay beans shipped first thing this morning (PayPal and the speediest bank transfers), payment is still pending on nearly half but as the bank comes good we get the beans out ASAP.
The CS pickup spot coffees will ship Wednesday and arrive within a week of shipping to most of the interstate locations... with plenty of time before the meeting days.
Ill drive the Melbourne pickup coffee up the highway to Veneziano on Saturday morning.
Enjoy your roasting CSrs.

Yep, I think that would be a good idea. I also (and I suspect most intending buyers) check out each bean variety - but probably only buy 2 of those on offer.... So this month thats 13 hits on the server "browsing" and only a couple for purchase.Originally posted by Felix link=1172023048/135#145 date=1172437207
I have found Andys tasting notes _very_ helpful.
It would save a bit of time making choices on beanbay if the comments were posted earlier.
Felix
Maybe Bean Bay could be brought up a day or two before the actual bidding - with all quantities set to zero (so no purchasing)..... then at the appointed time and day.... correct quantities are entered and the games would begin.....
Might be an easy "fix" to reduce the load - and also encourage the purchase of more varieties.... (also gives time to do a bit of research on those you havent heard of prior to the listing).

A very belated comment!Originally posted by Matt G link=1172023048/120#126 date=1172281748Another option may be for Andy to post his tasting notes in the bean bay before the beanbay opens to allow potential bidders to consider trying other beans rather than just the old favourites. Some of the beans Ive never heard of so it takes some time to do the research thing to find out what they are like.

I think I must have caught a lucky break. I came onto bean bay late this month (around 30 minutes in) there was 12.5 kg of tiger mountian left so I picked up 2.5kg of it. By the time I finalised my order it was all accounted for. I wasnt even going to buy any but when I saw there was still some left I couldnt resist. So I by-passed the hiccups by the sounds of things. And will get to sip my favourite SO in the near future.
I think admin do a great job around here always seeking to improve the standard of the site and beans etc... So hats off to you all and what is the occassional speed bump along the road amongst friends?

And besides,Originally posted by Thundergod link=1172023048/135#142 date=1172411696BeanBay brings some excitement.
Do we really want it to be boring and predictable?
Come on...you know you like the challenge!
Whatever the cause for the hiccups during the "crazy" session of BeanBay this month, Im sure it will get sorted out to the satisfaction of most members, Andys a smart guy and with the offered assistance of other talented members as well, Im sure it will all be good a little further on down the track. Remember everyone, this entire operation is the result of an enormous commitment by a very few people who volunteer their spare :-? time for the benefit of all....
Cheers,
Mal

Re: March BeanBay - Friday 23rd Feb 14:00 AEDT
Well I didnt join you on Friday for the hellfire that was Bean Bay March Edition. I opt for the easy road ordering the starter pack before it all began, altough as we can only order the starter pack the once, I will be joining you all on the frontline in the April Bean Bay.
I think it to be exciting and adreneline pumping to throw yourself amoungst the punters, fighting your way through the errors screens, madly hitting the refresh button with your left hand whilst cupping an espresso or latte in your right.
As the pandemodium dies and the system slowly restores itself to normal operation, there are punters kicking up their heels with the jubilation that they scored the ultimate prize that they came for, whilst others walk away with a sadness in their eyes. For those people I say "Cheer up!" its not like the last batch of Tiger Mountain has been sold never to be produced again. It will be back and yes the Yirga will shine its name across our screens in future Bean Bays and not slowly forgotten to be a future myth that these beans ever existed.
So at next Bean Bay, grab your self the caffiene drink of choice, sit down and prepare to do battle, but fight fair and have fun. This is what it is all about. The hype, the anguish, the glory, the bean, Its all that it is. This is Bean Bay and thats all that matters. [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

I knew I wasnt going to have access to the internet til Sunday, but luckily I was able to cajole my sister into logging in for me at 5.30 that arvo (thank God).
I figured that all the popular stuff would be gone, but hey Im happy to try anything out. Im taking a gamble on the Rwandan and will see how I go roasting the Decaff.
Can see that Im gonna need a bigger cupboard to store the beans in.
