Andy, maybe in future we can extend the time things can sit in the cart before they revert back, especially when things get as frantic as this.

Got home at 4.00pm, the Tiger Mountain was gone, but I was still able to get a good haul of other interesting beans. No internet problems at that time either. Im happy.

What we need is a "take a number" system....

You log on after the appointed time and the system allocates you a number (first come best dressed).....

The system then allows a maximum of 10 users to buy at a given time...

So initially now serving 1 - 10...... and as people complete the system updates.... now serving 1 - 17 then 1 - 28 etc....

When your allocated number is less than or equal to the maximum number.... you can start to buy beans (the system wont allow you in otherwise).... until then you just "sits and waits"....

creating order out of chaos????

I kinda like the madness that is bean bay..... adds to the drama and excitment and in my doll drum life I look forward to my once a month fix of excitement from Bean Bay.

Besides, I missed out on the popular choices last month but I didnt want to go home empty handed so I picked a couple of different beans and am absolutely loving them.... so I didnt mind missing out on the popular stuff after all cause I ended up with some fantastic beans

I kinda like the madness that is bean bay..... adds to the drama and excitment and in my doll drum life I look forward to my once a month fix of excitement from Bean Bay.

Whilst it is fun for us (in a twisted sort of a way) - have a thought for Andy who must have been in quite some state trying to get the system "back on the rails".

And I can see this getting worse by the month as more and more of we piranha go after the beans....

yep I agree entirely. half the fun is the almighty rush. Ive also missed out as many times as Ive been successful, but that doesnt stop me taking a swing next time.

I bought a lot (for me) last month so luckily wasnt involved in the mêlée.
I did manage to send a donation grendels way after the chaff settled.

Yes I think the problem will get worse. I logged on at 2pm to get some Tiger Mountain but left it for 30 mins because the site was obviuosly having problems but by then they were gone. Next time I guess I will be adding to the initial congestion. Is there a way to better match demand to supply? ie have the list of prospective beans up on the site before the final quantity is arranged so demand for each of the beans can be assessed?

But hey, I got a pile of beans to be working with and I havnt tried any of them so it will all add to my learning curve. Its not like I know what I am doing!

Maybe the upcoming beans list should not be published at all so people would log in with an open mind rather than a pre-existing idea of what they will get and then be disappointed.

Yeah...perhaps a poll is in order before the bean bay to get an idea of how much people want before the bean bay is set up

Hey Andy, thanks for all the hard work! Its easy for people to complain when they miss out (like I did last BB  :-[), but without your efforts the BB wouldnt exist.

And it really does pay to check back regularly as sometimes the popular beans  "mysteriously" return in small quantities, after the initial feeding frenzy, only to be snavelled up by opportune scavengers (like me!)

Well, certainly no problems for us that logged on 8.5 hours after the event due to work

But still a few interesting beans to grab, so Im happy. One day Ill get the Tiger Mountain and Yirag.

Missed out on the Yirg, but did manage to grab myself some red sea blend! Im also very interested to try the Rwandan coffee.

Pity; I havent had a really excellent floral yirg for a few years. Will look forward to the cupping notes. Unless someone over-ordered or is feeling particularly generous *looks around*

As usual, the system performed a treat.

Isnt it the same yirg? When I first logged in at 2, there was only like 5kg of it there anyway.

We need another option for Beanbay. A trolly to cart away all the lovely beans.
