A blend of two MTC Bin lots that won a medal at the Golden Bean, this was from the actual roast that was entered... Espresso Oz
I sent the 500g comp entry off and then shot and drunk the rest of the roast batch. The photo ended on the van, I won a medal and met the local wildlife at the farm as a bonus.
I guess my mind works in a rather bizarre fashion, as I get a vision inspired by Jello Biafra and DOA, but rather than a black van on a Washington DC beltway making crack, I see Andy on a Melbourne freeway roasting beans in the back... Anyway, good music to roast beans to... and at least its displaced the Barbie and the diamond castle tune from rattling around in my head.
Anyway, I guessed MT before I got to the punch line. I was going for Bin 549 due to the uniformity of the roast. Bin 35 still roasts uneven for me. Its great to see a true Aussie star bean on the van, even though the point may be lost on virtually everybody. A good conversation piece though.
Lost on virtually everybody is fine, they see a funky looking van half covered in coffee beans.... and I really like having the connection with the actual beans in the picture. Far better than using an anoymous studio shot picture of beans!
The problem I have with the van is the espresso shot looks so good every time I get into the van I want a coffee.
Barbie soundtracks? I think I know them all and I guess you know all about Fairy Beach too? The joys of small kids.

does it make coffee too ?
... No but that thought has crossed my mind a few times. The gotcha is that with two pallets of beans in the back it is really full so not enough room for a inverter and espresso machine ...
Room aint the gotcha Andy - suspension capabilities & GVM is
Even if you fitted the rig out with an inverter, the weight of the required added batteries to power a machine & grinder (4-5kva), with those pallets of beans in the back, would render your chassis fu**** futile.

Yeah it had that effect on me too.

Not another fairytopia movie?! ... Im trying to ween her onto something a bit more palatable, but it just gets undone by advertising on Sat morning when she watches Hannah Montana...
....you got the best of both worlds blah blah blah you got the best of both worlds... put it all together and you know you got the best of both worlds.
Yep, Hanna Montana brainwashed too.
What a great job with the van! Be prepared for people knocking on your window at those red lights and traffic jams.
Have thought about keeping a pile of freebies in the front for red lights.
Stay with your core ... roasting
Dear me, I wouldnt consider installing a machine to sell coffee to others, I would only do it for my own use... and other snobs I meet in my travels of course.
The van looks great, would be good to see it out Dubbo way some day. Congratulations on a great venture, hope it goes from strength to strength for you Andy.
The Van looks great Andy. I can see a lot of similarities to the end design to the one Sparro and I ended up creating. I guess we were always saving the best to last.
Still would have like to see Mr Bean poking his head out the back window but oh well, we cant win them all.
Hope you get loads of business from the van and I bet it feels so much better driving around in it knowing that people now know what cargo you are carrying.
