Nah, told her from the get-go that shed be wearing it, so Id hate to disappoint Scoots! ;D

I had noticed that you were being a gentleman but, being female, I dont have to display that quality... (bigger cheesy grin again, if only I had a smiley for it!)

Ah-ha! I think I know who you were TG now in hindsight, but didnt realise it was you so didnt want to just wander up to a stranger and stick my hand out...damn, another missed opportunity!

Really disappointed I missed everyone yesterday - I arrived after 3:30 (having spent the weekend in the Hunter). But still managed to have a good chat to Andy (great bloke), Dennis from Cuppacoffee (also great bloke - will be heading down to Marrikville asap!) and a fascinating chat with Anne from Di Bella (what a legend!).

I dribbled over the first Giotto I have seen in the flesh, and saw my first CS42 while meeting scoota!

All in all, a fun afternoon. Great to meet like-minded people, awesome to see machines that my money cant buy, and now I have an extra 12.5kg of green

Marrackville? You arent looking for an excuse to have another opening are you Den?
bjeck: youll have more luck in finding Cuppacoffee if you head to Sylvania.

Sorry I missed this one but the missus had already booked me to go to the Hunters Hill Food and Wine Festival and Id already used some brownie points in heading to the Cuppacoffe (re-)Opening event on Saturday morning. However, as I succeeded in returning without any bright and shiny equipment AND with some Snobby Chai, my store of brownie points wasnt too depleted. Good to catch up with many CSers there though and the Cup of Excellence was..errr...excellent!

Haha - thanks flynn. Still trying to understand this place called Sydney. Been here a tick over 2 months - cant get over the lane-widths, the fact that there isnt a straight road, and how hard it is to find a decent cup of coffee!
But I am loving the weather - beats the hell out of the crap Melbourne is getting at the moment!

                Sylvania it is!

OK the narrower lanes are due to the fact that Sydney-siders are more proficient in staying within one :P ;D

As I mentioned in another post, any fool can drive on a straight road. Tokyo was deliberately built with a confusing road layout to confuse potential maurauders.

                        Yep, definitely you TG, damnit!

I think you arrived just as I headed back into the Expo with Dennis and when I wandered out you, I think, were finishing your yack with Andy and taking collection of your goodies and heading off.  I stayed about another 10 minutes and hit the road myself.

I also went to Dennis on Saturday also and picked up some Snobby Chai and cooked it up last night...devine! Definitely a fan now, although Pete said he felt nauseous with the house smelling so much like Hot Cross Buns and banished me to the BBQ outside the next time I start steeping up a batch!...whinging man!  :

Re: CafeBiz 2009 - have CoffeeSnobs will roast!

Well, were home safe and sound...back in quite warm Wee Waa this evening!

Yes, it was great to meet you all! I was kind of distracted at times, as I was also there with my boss and wanted to see some of the happenings inside. But we both thoroughly enjoyed the day and infact the whole weekend.

Today we stopped at our coffee supplier and had a great and productive meeting with them. We were taken on a guided tour of their roaster, so it was quite awesome to be seeing the really huge end of the scale, a 100kg Brabanti roaster. Along with nitrogen flushing and all. Very impressive and I think that we both came away with a renewed attitude about our supplier. Especially since they spent so much time with explaining their vision for their business too. We feel less like an island now and more like a cafe that is actually using a product that has been produced by passionate coffee people.

Speaking of roasting...thanks for the ribbing about the roast... :P ...I think its getting framed somewhere... :

What was probably funnier was me running around the tent trying to find Andy to find out how to stop that darn roaster! ;D Thankfully, there was no one to see that! ;D

Anyway, as Ive literally walked in the door, Ive not had time to up load any pictures from the weekend. Which I will do when I get time!

I should have taken a picture of my truck this arvo! It was loaded with a tall chest of drawers, a fire place and flue, barricades, boxes of coffee and to top it off...an umbrella! ;D

                            Highlight of the weekend was...

Meeting fellow snobs and the Top Fuel races!

WOW, what a great few days, starting silly-o-clock on Friday and now my PC tells me its Tuesday 11am. In the last 4 days I have put faces to CS-names of lots of great people that I met for the first time and of course warming to say gday to longtimer CS supporters too!

Tis always awesome to meet CSrs and feel their passion for great coffee, as a group we all feed from each others enthusiasm and the results are always better coffee.

We really should all get together more often!

I also caught-up with many passionate CS site sponsors who in their businesses "live coffee" and are not just motivated by bottom line profits. They are great for the industry and I will continue to unashamedly support them any way I can.

Below Ill post some random pictures of the last few days...

                                The CS stand.

I was happy with how the stand looked and just how much junk I could fit into the van!

Lots of different roasters, plenty of beans and we had a great spot out in the sun near the front door. The only gotcha with being outside was that I had to pack-up at night (4th pic below) but that is a small price to pay so that we could roast all day. Chaff and beans everywhere!

The 5th picture is of Scootagal doing a roast, armed ready with a red thingo that most of us dont use for roasting.
                                :

(PS: you are a good sport Scoot, we all gave you a ribbing for the CS42 roast and you took it well.)
