Re: CoffeeSnobs Roast-a-rama - Melbourne 1st Oct.
Fatboy, Ive got an old BBQ That might be useful its a small hooded thing called a spacemaster
or something like that its got holes on each side and a shelf on one side (left) and a side burner
(right) with lid. it also has a glass front window which you can look thru. if you need it pm me
and ill bring it on the day. I just need a day or two notice to clean it up.
Sorry this is my first post, but it wont be my last!!
Oh yeah did i mention it was small I think its just over 2feet wide if its any help.

Re: CoffeeSnobs Roast-a-rama - Melbourne 1st Oct.
All should be OK as long as the BBQ itself has the slots for the rotisserie on left and right sides (which just about all BBQs have) and there is somewhere for me to rest the motor. IE: a lot of BBQs have a shelf on one or both sides.
The rod I use for the rotisserie is a composite of varying length pieces, so I should be able to make it fit just about any BBQ.
I also need 240v power.
Ill bring the drum, a power reel, the motor and the hi-tech bucket it sits in, the DC adaptor and various bits and pieces required for roasting.
Brett.

We will have to try an get a BBQ there for you then!Originally posted by fatboy link=1126535873/0#3 date=1126568918
If there is any chance of a 2 or 4 burner BBQ with hood being there, let me know (Ive been thinking of buying a spare trolley BBQ but dont think I can swing it before Oct. 1st at this stage).
What are the requirements to mount your drum?

CoffeeSnobs Roast-a-rama - Melbourne 1st Oct.
For those members in Melbourne or just keen enough to travel we are planning a "roast-a-rama" for the 1st of October.
What is a Roast-a-rama?
A day of roasting and cooling beans in as many whacky varied and different home-roasting devices that we can muster.
Confirmed are:
Imex CR100
Hearthware Precision
Hearthware i-Roast
Hottop
Stir Crazy
Popper
Gas fired Aldi Mezzo
(and pending on freight, the Gencafe should be here too!)
We need plenty more devices though.
Even if your roaster is in the list Im sure you have a slightly different technique and someone will learn from your methods.
The location has been supplied by the best coffee training venue in Australia, William Angliss Coffee Academy and should be a great day out.
We will be starting about 9:30 and running until we are sick of roasting (or out of beans). We are also hoping to organise a film crew for the day to capture video of the event which will be a really cool resource for newbie roasters. Ill shout a bag of interesting coffee to feed the roasters and any CSer roasting on the day will receive a DVD (when/if they are produced).
If anyone is flying into Melbourne for the day (Tullamarine or Avalon) let me know and Ill pick you up and/or deliver you to the airport if needed.
So... can you come and what will you bring?
