Had a good day out at Coffee Masters. Bit of a shame Andrew wasnt able to be there, but it was still a very informative session, thanks to Paul (Fad) for putting up with us.
We had a gander at the roasters, and both green and roasted coffees. The roasted varieties were divine when you opened up the tub and the aroma just hit you in the face. Got to see the Gene Cafe roaster in action (thanks JM). Didnt think it would be so quiet. A bit hard to pick out the cracks, but I think that has a lot to do with the roasting chamber itself. The chaff collector is extremely efficient, and the unit looks very solidly built.
Tasted some coffee, got to sample the Nez du Cafe. Sometimes its hard to believe that coffee will actually have aromas like that (rubber or medicinal).
