Re: Melbourne Cafe Day - Feb 18th - Coffee Academy
Hi all,
Im hoping to get there and meet some fellow snobs face to face for the first time, not 100% sure Ill be able to but Ill try. I have a friend who is also passionate about coffee (but is not a forum reader/poster), is it cool to invite him along Andy?
Re: Melbourne Cafe Day - Feb 18th - Coffee Academy
Yeah thats why I asked - its a quiet part of the city at a quiet time of the week, and I seem to remember street parking along La Trobe St there. Thanks guys.
Re: Melbourne Cafe Day - Feb 18th - Coffee Academy
FYI all there is freebie parking right out front (2hr till 12.30 on saturday)- things should have settled out there post volvo ocean race....I dont anticipate any parking hassles whatsoever... ...Well have to wrap up and be out by 3.30- so just a short, sharp session guys

Chris (or anyone else for that matter),
Is there much (preferably free) parking around the academy? When Ive come in for courses, Ive come in by train which is easy enough, but I have half a mind to bring my machine in to grill you guys about various things. I have a feeling lobbing a 15 kilo machine in and out of the city might be pushing it a little, especially with the coffee from Andy factored into the home journey, so I was thinking about driving.
Pete
This is the Melbourne CBD, so free and parking rarely occur together... Seriously, there is two hour parking around Angliss but Im not sure if its free or not, and there is a WIlson parking at 300 Latrobe which is $5 all day - youd have to drop off and then park as its a few blocks. Its not a busy part of the city on a Saturday.

Shots not great?
Grinder settings suss?
Struggling with your steam?
If you need some help bring your home coffee maker gear along with you and let fellow CSrs have a crack at troubleshooting your woes.
Nim and I are having trouble with our roasters; namely, that they dont exist. I was wondering if someone could bring along a hottop and a Gene Cafe for us to roast some samples on. Pretty please?
Re: Melbourne Cafe Day - Feb 18th - Coffee Academy
Bummer!! Again!!
This time its our annual syndicate day at the races,
but Im sure to be able to make the next Cafe Day. :
By the way I had a nice time in the Land of The Espresso.
Great coffee (also food, wine and friends). Problem was when I tried to discuss with my friends some aspects about the coffee, using my new found knowledge gained from CS, they said "dont analyse it, just drink and enjoy it".
Oh well
