Mothers day or not, My guess looks to be at least 30 members off.

In mid march when the comp started I guessed May 10 - tomorrow. I expected a more rapid upturn in new memberships so guessed earlier than what my gut was telling me, but it didnt pay off. Although the guess wasnt hideously inaccurate, it was at least far enough off to allow me to confidently rule myself out of the prize running.

Oh well, maybe Ill have better luck for 2000.

The trendline will only be linear if you apply a linear extrapolation to the data. The membership has followed a very stable curve upward over time over which a non-linear trendline sits very nicely!

Actually, after the contest was announced, the average number of new members per day has at least doubled. The trendline will still be linear, even if the data is a curve. It tries to best fit the trendline to the data.
