    Crema was available.
I overheard one of the organisers teklling Ofra or Renzo as we were setting up.
It was in the fridge out the back and freely available.
If no one used it, nuf said.

    Hi there CSers.
Was anyone else happy to see the end of the "Crema" milk sponsorship of the festival this year?
I dont think I saw any of that stuff anywhere. Goes to show that given a choice, a decent barista will use good milk, not cheats milk.

    Hey Wushoes,

During all that [15 x T/A Kerfuffell], you still had time to make me a very decent latte with a superb cardiod, followed by an excellent espresso and a quick chat so I think your well on top of your game mate.

I wouldnt say that if I were you. Try working a full espresso bar for a day and youll appreciate how hard it is to stay on top of your game.

For example, I had a lady come in during the busy part of the morning today with a list of FIFTEEN large T/A coffees with everything under the sun...soy, skinny, hot, strong, weak, warm, skinny vanilla chai, soy spiced chai.....all the while 10 people were lining up behind her each wanting at least 2 T/A coffees each. Under intense pressure like that, I still find it hard to keep up and need someone else on bar with me to keep me grounded and working efficiently.

Yes you may be able to pull an awesome shot, but it bugs me when people start talking like that.

    Sorry...end rant. ;D

Yahoo! Im glad the effort you went to turned out to be worthwhile. The machine exhibition hall is by far the highlight of the day.
And probably had the best coffee. Which everyone was giving away for free ... it turned out that quite a few people I know came to the event. One person who managed to get coffee said that she got her best coffee that day from Scott at the ECA stall. I reckon, any CSers could pull better shots than most of the stalls outside. And I for one am quite happy to get the chance to practice in a real world setting (and we all know well get paid in food, drink and BEANS).

Now Ill have to work out how to capture that "My last post was at 2am and I just arrived from Melbourne on the 6:00am flight" look of Andys ;D

    HELLO EVERYONE!

Indeed, were posting few days after the storm was all over, but Renzo and I took few days just catching on our breath, putting things in place and answering dozens of emails awaiting forever in our inbox....so:

HUGE thanks to: Hazchem, Thundergod, Nakedbeans, Recurve boy and mwatt, who have showed a generous volunteering spirit and great passion for coffee, that made the shoot-out and the entire exhibition a great success. Without their hard work, kindness and dedication, we would have never been able to put the Home Barista message across.

Great thanks to Andy whod bitten the bullet and made the trip to meet up with all of us and judge CSers on their lumpy spuds!

Many thanks to Nunu, JasonD, NakedBean, Vivienne, Ben & Dennis for their braveness facing the big crowd and pulling shots out of their comfort zone in front of our cameras...

Thanks also to Chris Natoli for his generous contribution to the shoot-out winner prize.

And last but not least, thank you, CSers for your ongoing support of a young, developing business, thriving on people like yourselves, whore making it all worthwhile and an enjoyable journey for us.

Next year, Di Bartoli we will occupy a larger space, and create an exclusive CS meeting point for CSers to chat, pull shots and compete who draws Andy better....you got a whole year to practice!

CS Brown enquired... I had thoughts of CS-B paying for it and CS-G and all the snobs roasting and havig fun.

The gotcha was the public liability and electrical tagging of all the equipment. I have to have all that done with the application and had a couple of days to get it into the forshore mob that run the rocks.

The sites are expensive but it would be a blast to run a CoffeeSnob one. We will see if we can get it to happen for next year maybe.

I only got to sample 1 brew from Lowenbrau. A whole litre of it!

Took the train last one, I might do the same this year. I felt sorry for exhibitors who had to constantly run off to feed the parking metres.

Apparently, this years festival will also include tea, chocolate and spices. As if the place wasnt crowded enough already!

Still, I plan to go and sample a few brews. Might just wander off afterwards and sample a few brews at Lowenbrau too.
