    Glad the day kicked-off well.

we knew that we had arrived at the correct address when we spied a genuine Coffeesnobs muslin coffee bag draped over Viviannes letterbox
    Clever idea!

Everytime we get a group of CSrs together we find the learning, sharing and coffee stories always fly thick and fast and everyone has a ball. Good to see this was no different!

Wyee would suit me fine as well. Plus the plumbed in 2 group should cater for us all. Having the super barista Scoota gal would be cool as well. Post festive season we should kick something off. Freddy may have a few more coffee cherries happening on his plant by than if it isnt too far to travel.

Id probably pack up the gear and drive the 5.5 hours to get to that Paolo, if it was to happen!!

I was so jealous of you all getting together but it was just too far for me and the wrong time of year, otherwise youd have met me too!

Its great to hear that it was a successful day and enjoyed by all. Good on you for doing it!

And what an experience it was!!!

On Friday, Mary and I left the sunny Central Coast of NSW and ventured south to Moss Vale, the land of mist and Kelvinator temperatures....

On Saturday morning we knew that we had arrived at the correct address when we spied a genuine Coffeesnobs muslin coffee bag draped over Viviannes letterbox.

We were greeted by Vivianne and her family (who made us feel so welcome. Thanks for that, Vivianne), Coffeechaser, Freddy and Mrs Freddy. Later Thundergod arrived, hammer in hand...

Its hard to express what a wonderful time we both had, meeting you all (and your family, Vivianne)...Ttalking to other individuals (real "characters") who share the same coffee passion that I do was a real treat.

We saw a heatgun doing its stuff in a collander and also a Coretto, a chimneyed Popper and my trusty Imex. Each one roasted beautifully.

Miss Silvia (Viviannes pride and joy) did her stuff before roasting and a banquet gourmet lunch followed. What a feast!

After lunch we experimented with Coffeechasers new toy, a smick Expobar. What a fabulous machine!

It was such an enjoyable day, talking to you all (mainly about coffee but all sorts of other things as well.)

Thanks again for supplying the beans, Andy. They were much appreciated.

I cant wait for the next NSW Roasting Day....maybe at Wyee?

Thanks to you all, hope to meet you again someday.

It was a great day indeed. Was great to meet everyone and was good to see all the different roasting strategies etc. I am sure the next NSW day will be even more beneficial. Plus I got to test out my breadmaker with Vivianes heat gun.
Was so good of Viviane to open up her beautiful home and extend her wonderful hospitality to us all. Good coffee, good food, and good conversations were had all day.
I know at least 2 of us are keen for a Sydney cafe crawl as well.
Thanks Andy for the beans as well.

What a great day that was!!!

It was wet and cold, we had to go to plan B for the roasting, which meant we didnt get as much done as I had thought we would.  Most of us had only tried one type of roasting, we all got to see a popper, heatgun, Imex and Corretto in action, and the pros and cons of each.

While this was planned to be a day of trying different types of roasting and perhaps a couple of different espresso machines, the real benefit of the day was in meeting other coffee minded folk, all genuinely lovely people that I would happily spend time with again.  There was absolutely no lag in the conversation all day - from the moment the first person arrived, coffee was the main (though not the only) topic.  Im not sure that many coffee making problems were actually solved, but it was good to find out that we each werent the only one who is passionate about our coffee.

Pictures will follow, with more details about the different roastings.

All we did to get ours off the ground was start a thread in the coffee news and events section and to see who was interested. I am sure you will find some interest there. Plenty of sponsors and good contributors in Vic. as well so I am sure you could construct a most useful day. Just takes one to start it.

I am sure we can work around the weather. It will be great as you say Viviane to put faces to names. It will be interesting as I suppose we often paint a picture in our minds of what people will be like, so will be interesting to see how right/wrong the mind picture is to the real deal.
I no longer look like my avatar since cutting off the long hair and shaving the beard an mo.
Ill bring an old photo though.
