A picture of the drinkable coffee, TG, is what I was hoping for!

Or at the very least, a picture of everyone enjoying a cup of coffee!

Northern end of the NSW Central Coast. Just under an hour from the end of the F3.

Scoota Gal there were a few cameras floating around and I do remember a photo being taken of a shot that Viviane pulled to show off the crema. Was from Indian Tiger Mountain that was roasted on Thursday. Not sure whose camera that was from though, so it may pop up.

Now that the guinea pigs survived everyone is coming out of the woodworks  ;D
The 2 group may get a thorough workout there Paolo. We will have to see how many more roasting techniques can be shown the next NSW day.
And someone from Newy as well. I am a former Newcastle person but cant say I have found any outstanding coffee there yet   And believe me I have tried. MochaMaster do you know any good ones? I still head there a bit to see family and friends.

OK, good coffee in Newcastle. Well - I dont go to cafes a lot so my experience is somewhat limited, since I can be 95% sure I can have a better coffee at home, but here goes.

Rumour has it that Bogey Hole cafe in Hunter Street, down the beach end is pretty good.

There is a roaster/cafe out in the wine country at Hunter Valley gardens called "Bliss". Every time we go out there Ill have a coffee, usually an espresso or double, and have NEVER been disappointed. Its a bit far out of Newcastle though, but that said, it really is an outstaning coffee. You used to be able to book a group in for a proper cupping session there if you had 6 people or more.

Once a year they have the Darby Street Coffee festival. We usually go in, and I spend a bit of time hunting to see who at which stand look like they know what theyre doing.

I usually pick my cafes and restaurants for the food, since I know they can do a better job of that from me.

Oh, one last one. Peaberrys Coffee at New Lambton. They roast on site, and do training etc. Theyd be my best recommendation closer in to Newcastle.

Well I thought my pictures of the roast results showed it will be drinkable.
I know we were there a long time but it would have stretched Vivianes hospitality for us to wait a few days to taste it.

Someone else may have a picture of us imbibing but we were so busy, roasting, drinking, eating and talking, that we might not have been still long enough for such a snap.

If I were in Newcastle I would be prepared to drive to Wine Country for a good coffee. Not much of a wine drinnker anyway. I got married up there though and have spent many an hour going for motorbike rides through there. I will explore some of the options next time I am up that way than.

Oh! The Hunter Valley! My fave place for all things food and drink! And how good would it be if we found a place up there that would let us hold our coffee day and maybe drink some wine, eat some food! Surely thered be plenty of places thatd be keen for that? Hmm, Ive got a couple of contacts Im thinking of already. Can see it now, food, wine, coffee!

Weve tried Bliss as well. In the scheme of things they were okay, IMO. But it bothered me a little that their milk was left on a side counter behind the barista! Might be okay in an airconditioned shop but still a bit dodgey on a hot day. And their chairs and tables are funky but pity the poor old retirees that struggled to get down onto the low stools. We had to offer to help one old bloke as we were worried he was going to not make it!

Heres the first shots from the Mountain Top Boomerangs done in my Crazy Popper and pictured on the previous page post roast.

                                Please excuse the flash flare.

The picture is of a double shot from my LM basket.
It ran a bit quick (next grind will be finer) but I stopped it at blonding so it didnt taste too bad.
Photo was taken at least 30 seconds after the pour.
