Re: Coffee Documentary this week on SBS
;D
That reminded me of those Moccona ads Andy.
"His plunger broke" &
"Keep applying the cream".
;D ;D ;D
Then I had another thought:
A CSer invites a date back to their place for coffee...
...
...
...
...and makes them one!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

No worries
The different timeslots are pretty interesting, as are the differing narratives in the various local TV guides. Im still trying to get my head around coffee having a "... sexual...impact on civilisation" (as described in the Perth Sunday Times).
At the risk of having this post head off in a tasteless direction, there were obviously some things that my recent home barista course left off the curriculum ;D
Cheers,
Sam

Re: Coffee Documentary this week on SBS
Nice find Sam, thanks for the heads-up.
I have just set my web scheduler to grab it
The different times around the country is interesting. I assumed they would all be much the same.
Melbourne guide says:
Name: Black Coffee
Time: 7:30 PM
Date: Fri Apr 6
Duration: 60 min
Channel: SBS DIGITAL 1
Description: (Part 1) The Irresistible Bean - This fascinating three-part documentary series traces the unique and volatile history of coffee. The first episode explores the origins of coffee in Ethiopia and its triumphant spread over five continents, sparking revolution, controversy, creativity, business and slavery along the way. We see the transformation from the first coffee house traditions which begin on dirt floors and evolve into more refined Arabic home versions. Venetian latte develops a cachet that is the model of Western coffee-marketing, 450 years later. The French cast off the monarchy, Americans toss their tea into Boston harbour, Haitian plantation slaves rebel, all under the heady aroma of the bean. (From Canada, in English, French and Turkish with English subtitles) (Documentary Series)

Coffee Documentary this week on SBS
"Black Coffee - Tuesday 7.30 pm - SBS .... This interesting three part documentary tells the story of the global spread of coffee, from the bean to the cup. Coffee is one of the most complex beverages on earth and has had a social, sexual, economic and political impact on civilisation".
I took this description from the Perth Sunday Times TV Guide (April 1 edition) - even though SBS is a national station, it would probably be best to check your local guides to confirm local times.
Cheers,
Sam.Tags: None
