Re: Celebrate the Bean - Melbourne 2nd March
I think a lot of us have been there, done that Simone :
..... Years ago, before I realised you could roast coffee at home, I must have spent a small fortune working my way through coffee bought at Delis, Coffee Shops and yes, the Supermarket too I hate to admit :-[.
This was all before the Internet took off and well before rural and regional areas started to gain access to the Net. Once the Net was available though, there was no looking back and absolutely NO intention of ever going back to that horrible stale stuff being passed off as coffee. Welcome to the club..... ;D
Theres a great How To series on the various brewing methods available on this page here. Having high quality, freshly roasted beans and a decent grinder so that you only grind what you require immediately before a brewing session, is the crux to being able to enjoy beautiful coffee no matter what brewing method is employed. Ive been using a plunger now (properly :
) for about two years and it is capable of producing delicious brews each and every time, providing you do your part of course. Same holds true with any other brewing method.
Have fun and Happy Brewing....

On the topic of plunger coffee, doesnt it always taste of nothing much? If theres really a way to do it well Id love to hear about it -- then maybe I could have coffee at work again!
