Pioneer have already put up the challenge. They will ship 3 kg of greens to each contender for $20 including postage and the contestants send back 500gm of roasted beans.

Maybe that thread can be merged with this to keep things tidy and the details added to the title.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

The challenge is as such. I send you 3Kg of greens for $20 inc postage. I have selected a bean that I have not roasted in years and am not familiar with. I have a bag of Cuban Torquino Lavada on its way too me. You send me 500gm of roasted sample and we will taste by cupping and espresso.

If you are interested just pm me your address and when I am closer to sending the samples Ill give everyone my bank details to make payment.

Samples will be sent from Pioneer on 1st May and must be recieved back at roastery by 18th.

a quick hint to researching the Cuban ... try Turquino rather than Torquino

                Hmmm,

Crops from years gone buy in this region (2003-ish) were absolutely beautiful beans and made one of the smoothest, best balanced S.O.s Ive ever had. If these are even close, should be a great bean to use..... 8-)

                  hehehe, to no avail [smiley=evil.gif]

Ill just have to add a bit of Cuban chop-chop to the roast, & thatll do the trick ...
