Be warned. Ive already started honing my skills by roasting 400 gm of Cuban Altura yesterday. [smiley=evil.gif]

                      Beat you to it Sparky.

I roasted Cuban Altura 10 days ago! Purely by coincidence though :-)

Pretty good stuff. Lovely cocoa flavours in milk.

                        Re: QLD CoffeeSnobs "Roast-Off"...

... aint we roasting Jasons Turquino stash for the day - surely a different crop to the Altura?

Practice aside on any Cuban greenies we can get hands on prior to Jasons choice, Lavada is Latin for purified ...

can I assume that pertains to the processing (& hence roast profile)?

Ahhh, Labour Day lag of public holiday in delivery ... just 10 days to play ...

"Lavada is Latin for purified ..." and colloqiually, lavada means wash or washed

Hmm...lots of quotation marks in that last sentence. ;D

Just replace the pistol with a heat gun and this is what youre up against, Tony...

On a serious note, the NSW crew are looking at SO blends. Given that Ive never roasted 600gm of green, this may be the only way I can go.

This is shaping up to be a great day out. Im looking forward to the blind tasting and wonder if it will be possible to pick my own roast.

I actually got into a bit of trouble with this roast off. I mentioned the tasting on the 18th to my wife and she immediately yelped; You cant go. Thats my birthday!... pause... pause... "No its not!" I repleid. But it was too late. The pauses got me. :-[
