    Re: WBC - David Makin runner-up 2008

Twas an exciting finale and Id like to add my congratulations to you David - a truly great performance, and I especially loved the signature drink with the almond infused cream and cherry reduction!

I also have an observation/query that someone may help with...

After competitors used the PFs for their first extractions I noticed that they were wiped clean, but not flushed, before moving on to the next dosing. Or did I miss that? If not, there would be a small residue from the previous extaction still in the PF, and so I wondered what impact this may have on consequent pours?

Its interesting that the traditional Barista countries like Italy dont feature. Are they above this sort of contest?

          Am I missing something?

Why does Yung have a higher score than both Sleijster and Remheden..... and yet is rated lower :-/

Congrats Dave! Awesome effort, and the video stream this year was great.

Any chance that Veneziano might sell his competition blend for a limited time? I seem to recall this being done last time he competed.

                        Congratulations David.
A very well deserved placing after all your hard work and training leading up to the event. We will always remember your time for us at Veneziano Cafe, your tour of the roastery there, and the great DVD you gave us featuring your superb Barista skills. Good Luck for the future.
