i have just faxed in my application for the home barista comp... by the silence on this thread, i guess i am a shoe in for the first prize, if i am the only competitor....
one question i do have is are the drinks supposed to be made on a 30ml espresso (ie single) or 60ml? at home my standard latte/f.w is done on a double, so i am used to it that way...
also, the espresso, again 30 or 60ml? my default for the black drinkers is a long black, with the 30ml or so of hot water..... so what are the "officials" looking for?
Would love to be down there for Wicked Sunday and for Roasters Week - it sounds like itll be CSers heaven. I cant get back down there that weekend. :-/ Ohh, the tyranny of distance!
for those who have entered the home barista comp, but still too shy to say, i have come across this:
http://homebarista.com.au/doc/Info_Judging_Process.pdf
answers the questions as to what we "should" be doing up there!
