Best Wishes to those experiencing fires

CS "fair crack" Coffee funds & Victorian Bushfires

I know faircrack is all about coffee projects, and I think its an awesome idea that I am very happy to contribute to whenever I buy coffee from coffeesnobs.

This weekend though, we have seen an unprecedented bushfire disaster take place in Victoria. A very sad weekend for the whole of Australia indeed.

What do other CSers think about a small donation to a relevant charity that will assist, or other organised fire appeal? Or, how about if we came up with some other mechanism, say just the faircrack funds raised from the next Beanbay, and/or the fund generated from the faircrack component of roasted coffee sales in the next month? Maybe another instant auction or something?

I know Id be more than happy to support such a move with even the small amount my purchases from here generate.

Yes, Viviane, I see too that it has escalated into a horrible disaster.

Dont care what anyone else thinks but I am certainly praying for all of those who are involved.

This country is just amazing...floods up north and fires down south. Talk about a land of extremes.

Ive just been watching the fires on the late news, it looks horrific down there. There are fires in NSW as well, but, fingers crossed, not on that scale. The Firefighters, both paid and volunteer, do an amazing job - Im in total awe of the work they do.

Still rember as a 16 year old in Warragul the Ash Wednesday hue and smoke as it got within 15ks of town and the strange and eerie feeling. I still Remember the faces of the firefighters 2 and 3 days later at the Red Cross kitchen very sad times again.

They can have some of our flooded water from Innisfail
Its a pity we cant make a man made river from North Queensland to Victoria

Yes,  words arent really enough to describe the horror of the tragedy that is unfolding in Victoria.  
All my best wishes & warm thoughts go out to everyone affected by this terrible devastation.  And thanks & appreciation to those who are fighting it.

Sincere best wishes go to any Coffee Snobs who have had any up close and personal experiences with the fires that have raged in Victoria and other parts of the country today.

If there is anyone who has been affected, please know that there is one very smoky, burnt leaf encrusted snob feeling for you and those who have been too close to the terrible events of today.
