I think the idea of donating to the rescue helicopter service is a great way to tribute a pilot who loved the air.

The memorial service details...
The family and friends of the late Mark Robert Harlen (Mav), Chief pilot for Crop Jet aviation, who tragically passed away on Saturday evening in an aviation accident, are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at the Wee Waa town airstrip at 3pm on Monday December 18th.
Following the service a wake will be held at the Wee Waa Bowling Club.
Tamsyne (Scoot) has requested that in lieu of floral tributes, mourners consider making a donation to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (Tamworth) PO Box 922 Tamworth 2340.
AM passed the message on this week. So the CS community is there even if we are not here if you see what i mean.
This means of course that you are in our hearts , our souls and our minds right now even if the words are few or many we as a community feel your loss.
As many a post before me, words cannot express our feelings for you right now. But I just want you to know that we are here for you. I dont know how I could help you except to say I am here and thinking of you and your son
Greg Pullman says it all:
"Scoots, what can I say that hasnt been said already? When you cry, the whole CS community cries with you. Our deepest sympathies."
I have been overwhelmed and awed at your amazing words that have so excellently conveyed your love and support for us over the past week. I feel that my own words are inadequate to express my deep thanks and gratitude for what you have thought and felt for myself and my son.
The "Triumph of Life" that was Marks tribute and celebration was just that, a triumph and celebration of a life that was just amazingly wonderful. Great friends and family spoke about Mark and we saw memories of a wonderful life. We even got to watch "Top Guns" opening sequence. I felt it would not have been a true memorial to him without that!
As a final tribute to him, three other heros of the air and ag business flew a fantastic display above our heads that brought many to tears. A glass of red wine was raised to our lips and toasted to the "Greatest Ag Pilot and Lover Ever" - (Marks own words to me on occassion!).
Personally, I am well. I am so looking forward to getting on with this business of living and that I am confident that I will do so. I have a great support network and my greatest support of course is my great and glorious Saviour.
On the practical side of things, the investigation into the accident is not yet done. I will be travelling to Sydney at some stage to hear the Coroners findings. The Australian Transport Safety Bureaus investigations also continue and they have promised me that they will leave no stone unturned in an effort to determine what has caused the accident. Yes, there are still big questions about the how and why. No, I am not dwelling on that and regardless of the outcome, the end result is the same and I am not worried or concerned if there is never an answer to why the plane came down. I am personally confident that my husband was trying everything in his power to avoid the end result. These investigations may take months.
Today, my and Marks boss is ensuring that the plane does not become a local tourist attraction, much to my pleasure. They are removing it to a suitable site to bury it and where an appropriate memorial can be erected in Marks name.
Thanks again, all. I plan to start contributing again soon! (as soon as I can get everyone to leave me alone for long enough to catch up here! )
And dont worry, my barista skills have not been fading! Ive been keeping busy at home making coffee for all the family!!
