Re: Our deepest condolences to Scoota Gal
Scoots,
My deepest sympathies to you and your son. Through my work I have flown with a more than a few Ag pilots and I have to say they have always earnt my respect. Its a rare breed of pilot that can manage to fly a large powerful Ag aircraft such as the Airtractor at the edge of the envelope within 20ft of the ground all day, every day. It is hot and hard work but such a vital service in the bush. Each and every one of them was a character and Im sure Mark was no different.
An awful loss for you and your family as well as aviation.
All the best,
Matt

Our deepest condolences to Scoota Gal
Updated - 14th Dec
(original post below)The memorial service details...
The family and friends of the late Mark Robert Harlen (Mav), Chief pilot for Crop Jet aviation, who tragically passed away on Saturday evening in an aviation accident, are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at the Wee Waa town airstrip at 3pm on Monday December 18th.
Following the service a wake will be held at the Wee Waa Bowling Club.
Tamsyne (Scoot) has requested that in lieu of floral tributes, mourners consider making a donation to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (Tamworth) PO Box 922 Tamworth 2340.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Scoota Gals beloved husband of 17 years, Mark.
Mark was 44 years young and was doing what he loved when something went terribly wrong and his aircraft crashed at Colly Farms near Collarenebri in northern NSW on Saturday last.
Mark loved to refer to himself as "The greatest Ag Pilot and Lover ever" and that passion extended into all aspects of his life from his deep love for Scoota Gal and their son, to his coffee, to flying. Mark loved having the espresso machine and grinder in the house and would religiously make himself a long black every morning and sit in his fave corner at the dining table reading a book and drinking his coffee before heading off to work to soar with the birds.
Our deepest condolences and sympathies go out to Scoota Gal and her son during this very sad time for them.
Hang in there Scoots and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in this very trying time and if theres anything we can do you have only to ask.
From all of us here at CS,
