    This is Coffee (1961)

A friend sent me this very cool clip that was produced by "The Coffee Brewing Institute" in approx 1961.

Its a 50MB download (MPEG4) and runs for 12 minutes
    http://www.archive.org/download/ThisisCo1961/ThisisCo1961_512kb.mp4

An excellent window into the US coffeesnobs of 50 years ago and while much of the techniques have changed in that time, a lot have been rediscovered and touted as the latest, greatest (eg: Cona syphon and the Hario style drip) so just wait for the stovetop perculator to come back into fashion!

Well worth the 12 minutes of your life to watch it (or your money back)
    ;D

That cupping looks like it was done yesterday!

"In France they drink cafe au lait ... half hot milk" I should try that

There was even a bit of crema on that syphon!

    entertaining.

I love the passion of the narrator.

....from the closed fist of the bean...

          Gold!

And cupping in a suit jacket? heck yes!

Thanks for posting this, made my day
