Re: CoffeeSnobs Beanology 2012 @ CafeBiz 2012

    Hi all

First thanks Andy for the excellent Beanology. It takes quite a bit of organising to run something like that and everything seemed to run very smoothly. The show bag and the talks were well worth the money.
I stayed for the entire session and learnt so much. Id second flynn_aus comments about Philip DiBellas talk. My wife and I have started up a small business and many of his insights into marketing were helpful to me. I had not expected something that relevant to something else non-coffee related.

    Thanks from Mike

      Big thanks to Andy, hellofalottawork.

Loved Andys approach to coffee and his discussion on Art vrs Science....enjoyed his humor, approach and reality check, full stop. Little said,a lot learned.

Now for the learning.....one coffee, four, well at least three different flavours, and all four the same colour ????  HOW?

Andres Canon gave a great presentation on cup profiling speciality coffee, and Mark Beaties blending session was structured and super informative. Craig Hirons beautifully designed otto espresso is a credit to his committment and drive.

The chance to catch up with Greg Pullman (Hottop) and sample one of his roasts (delightfully sweet) added to a great day.....not to mention the terrific gear on display and freebie food/drinks.

Thanks again Andy....wish I knew more coffee snob attendees, perhaps next year.

      JL

Big kudos to Andy for bringing this to Sydney!

The passion the speakers have for this industry is evident in presentations. It was a shame I could not stay for Craig Hirons presentation.

Great catching up with Renzo and was in awe of this gentleman next to the Di Bartoli stand showing off his wizardy on the siphon!!

Ditto JL! Hope to see the return of Beanology next year! ^^

Throwing my 5c in to say I enjoyed the day as well.
Im not roasting at home but am interested in all things coffee and enjoyed the info.

PS - theres a coffeesnob pen in the bag! I was folding the bag up to use again and the pen fell out - understandable to miss it when theres all that coffee to drool over

            Awesome feedback, thanks everyone!

It was a great trip for me.  5 days, 500kg of gear and more than a 2000km road trip from home to home but it was all worthwhile and I look forward to the next one already!

            Huge shout-outs to:

Beanology Presenters: Andres, Mark, Phil and Craig who put in heaps of effort to ensure that the presentations had something for everyone.
The wonderful audience that didnt throw rotten fruit when I did my session
The  people that traveled from New Zealand, Perth, QLD, Tassie, Victoria, SA and from all over NSW in planes, trains and automobiles.
Cafe Biz for hosting the event
Cafe Biz staff (one big family really) who were never stressed, were always nice and super helpful from pre-planning till packup
Australian Technology Park staff and security who helped with the bump-in
CS Site Sponsors who looked after all the CSrs on the weekend
All the great CSrs that came with an open mind and left with a few new perspectives and some ideas to try.
Well done everyone!
