Re: Brisbane snobs big roast out

    tis soooo predddy Ken.

I look forward to seeing it splattered with coffee grinds in the photos of the roast-out.

...and then the "I got it home and cleaned it for 2 hours" photo as the finale of the series... "before / during / after"

Tis a great looking new toy though.

PS How are you off for a grinder???
Your new machine looks pretty as a picture there Ken

Cant wait to have a cup or two or three from it and get it dirty ;D

I shall be bringing either the unsold Cunil El Tranquilo or the new Compak Touch out to grind with.

Id swap Belinda but you dont want anything Ive got!

maybe you could repost that post here and start again? I know Bruce was interested in swapping with someone but I think hes been a bit busy lately.

Ive got some Tanzanian and Honduras from the bean bay before last that Id be willing to swap and I have heaps of decaf if anyone would like to try it.

I also have some Brazil Rios Minos from my starter pack that I cant seem to do good things with. Id be willing to give that away to see if someone else can do something better.

Id swap for anything I dont have already but if someone has some PNG peaberry - well Id be your best friend for a bit!!

            Hi Belinda and Meg,
Im keen to swap some beans too.Ive just been slack not responding.
Since I dont have a huge (by some snobs holdings) stock of beans Ill bring the lot
and see what deals can be done on the day.
Ill post a list of what I have here before the big day.

            Cheers,
            Ken.

              Thanks Andy and Belinda,
Too late its been soiled.I cant believe the difference Ive noticed already.
I still favour milk based drinks but since using big Bezzie Ive noticed a sweeter taste and have cut back to 1 small teaspoon of sugar. Now to try some more SO beans and experiment.

              Fun,fun,fun,
              Ken

                  That sounds great Ken.

Maybe we should just bring a pile of beans along to roasting day that we wouldnt mind swapping and see how it goes ...... ??

Looking forward to this, and a big thankyou to Meg for hosting and roasting

So 11.30 is the definite start time?

And should we all bring our bean cooling setups?

Or just have one or two there?

Yes 11.30 start if that suits everyone! Then people can leave whenever they want after lunch or in the afternoon and still see some roastin.

Ummm... good point about the cooling! Hadnt thought of it! Being a seive to seive kind of girl meself!

How do you feel about bringing yours Belinda? And Bruce? I know yours are pretty nifty.

                          Cheers,

                          Meg

Yep I can bring my vacuum cleaner with attached bucket and sieve aka bean cooler ;D

It can only cool about 400 grams of roasted beans though.

Do I need to bring the fan too ?

                                Excellent points Belinda!

Im giggling at how many things I havent thought of! Never fear there will be electricity, food and drink on saturday. I figure things can only get better from there!

Fan-wise.... um is the fan particularly special? I have two cheap pedestal fans if that will help? Im not too keen to pull them apart as they are the only ones we have right now!

let me know if there is anything else people need! Theres a good chance I wont have thought of it!
