Yes, it does sound odd to mention a precaution for rainy weather.  Especially in Brisbane.  Whats rain?   [smiley=vrolijk_1.gif]

    Tandoori chicken.    Mouth waters  [smiley=cheesy.gif]

I remember thinking the same thing when we had the NSW Roasting day here. It rained for the first time in months. We still had a great day though. I hope yours goes well too.

Well count me in Meg! Wouldnt miss it.

I can bring a little old Breadmaker with a Heatgun pointed at it and throw some green beans in it and watch them spin round and round

Would love to see the Gene Cafe there, and maybe a Hot Top.

Greater Brisbane Folk! Come on down!

At the last bean bay pick up, Belinda (aka Coretto) was flagging the idea of a Brisbane roast day. As noone else in the discussion had the space to hold such an event (in the case of bad weather) I offered the underneath of my house for the occasion.

This is your opportunity to show off your most Heath Robinson inspired roasting inventions. We promise to Ooh and Ahh at how clever and inventive you all are!
It would be great to see everyones setups though.

    SO... heres the plan.

    31st March Roasting Day
    Arrive about 11.30
    Roast show-offs until about
1.30 BBQ lunch (I can easily provide with say a gold coin donation) with BYO drinks
More roast show offs after lunch and people can stay as long as they like

There are some pros and cons to this plan (Ill let you decide which is which)...

:-?I live in Ipswich (about 45 minutes west of Brisbane)
We do a mean tandoori chicken on the BBQ as well as other food to suit all sorts (ie vegetarians and the like)
:-[We have no espresso machine (expect the presso) - plunger will be the brewing apparatus of choice on the day
    Chocolate Espresso Cake
8-)You get to see THE ORIGINAL AND THE BEST coretto roaster in action (operated by the original and the best inventor)
:-/The underneath of our house isnt very glamourous but we can make it comfortable we also have a large backyard if the weather is fine (I feel silly saying that in the middle of a drought)

So... Roasting day fun for the whole family!

Seriously, it should be heaps of fun! Whos in? Any other ideas for the day? Any other venues (free!) that spring to mind?

    Discuss people!

    Cheers,

    Meg
