For some reason it has come to life again and now I have to tone it down so it doesnt roast too quickly.  I actually had to switch it to low very briefly after FC.  Havent had to do that with the GMC Platinum.  It just didnt have the grunt.  This was for a 300 gram batch.

And how is that Red Sea Blend tasting after a bit of rest Mark??

It should taste devine.   It is a magical chocolatey blend.

Thats what I was hoping for. However, the roast on the Gene Cafe tasted of burnt tractor tyre and the second roast on the new Corretto setup that stopped short seems to be lacking in any aroma at all. The third roast is now resting, having been taken into rolling 2nd crack for a total roast time of 16 min. It looks the goods. Lets hope it tastes as good as it looks.

      Cheers,

      Mark.

PS I took your advice and replaced the GMC Platinum with the Bosch variable temp model. Its a great HG with a digital temp readout and push button adjustments in 10 C steps up to 630 C.

I find with all pre blended greens they need to go into rolling second just to make sure all the beans are roasted thoroughly.

So yes I took the Red Sea into the start of rolling second and it cupped beautifully. From day 5 to 14 it was pure magic. Almost like a chocolate milkshake in milk :-)

The HG sounds interesting Mark. Let us know how it goes.
