Christmas Orders on beanbay -best time to order

Hey guys,

First post here.

I have had a Sunbeam espresso machine for a few years, Christmas present from in laws. Since receiving, we haven't used fresh beans. Only supermarket and Gloria Jeans (I know, stale as, but I like infused/flavored coffee sometimes.) I want to start buying freshly roasted beans, so thought I would order off BeanBay and get some for us and some for in laws.

My question is, how close to Christmas would be safe to order? I'm in Melbourne BTW. I don't want to have beans siting around for weeks before I give them as part of presents, but I don't want to get them after Christmas either.

If anyone who has ordered around this time of year could help me out, that'd be great!

Also, is there a good site, or place in Melbourne that sells infused/flavored fresh beans?

Good point about the Christmas, New Year and Australia Day holidays. Freight at that time of year is often crazy and some of the couriers seem to take random days off... maybe on good surf days?

I have just updated all the coming roast dates in the front of BeanBay.

JANUARY: Sun 4th, Wed 7th, Sun 11th, Wed 14th, Sun 18th, Wed 21st, Wed 28th

PLEASE NOTE:
Due to Christmas, New Year and Australia day some Sundays and Wednesdays are not roast days.
Order before above roast days to ensure you don't miss the batches.


So the shorter answer to your question is:
Order and pay prior to Wednesday 17th to ensure you get fresh roasted coffee to your door before Christmas day.

We have added a roast day just before Christmas on Sunday 21st which is cutting it fine for Christmas but most destinations should still get their beans okay.

Hello all,

Just a thought to keep in mind when ordering around this time. I ordered green beans last week, and as usual Andy sent them out almost instantaneously, but the courier company took longer than usual to deliver(6 days including the weekend) - and I'm in Melbourne. I think the Christmas season is starting to create a back-log, so I would factor that in when timing your order.
